BUILD UPDATE: As of 10/05/2006 - Clean and Unscheduled

Well, I decided to drop the 18" wheels and go to the 17's. I found out that the tire diameters between the two are nearly identical so no change should be required for the computer. I will buy the 18" wheels once they become available or start looking at the aftermarket.

Because I have decided to purchase an indash PC/NAV/Stereo, I also decided to downgrade the Shaker 1000 to the 500. I will put that $1200 into the new stereo.

My order is Priority 10 so hopefully I will get a VIN soon.

Serialized!!

BUILD UPDATE: As of 10/14/2006 - Serialized - Waiting to be Scheduled

I finally got Serailized! The ERL did not tell me what my serial number was, just that it was serialized and waiting to be scheduled. I'm just happy that some progress has been made and that I am no longer in the "Clean and Unscheduled" pergatory.

In the meantime I have been buying parts. So far I have received;

Sequential Light Kit
12" Stripe Kit (I'm not telling the color...it will be a surprise!)
Rear Window Louver (will be painted G.O. and striped)
Headlight Splitters (will be painted G.O.)
Window Tint
AutoMoleSkin
Billet License Plate frame
Billet Cup Holder Bezel
2 Car Covers
Various Mustang/Pony/Ford Emblems and Decals
GTech Pro SS Performance Meter
2 Mustang Fender Covers

Parts on Order;

Silverhorse Quarter Window Vents (will be painted G.O.)
Eibach Springs
Adj. Panhard Bar
Adj. Camber Bolts
Grabber Orange Touch-up Paint
Orange Brake Caliper Paint
Clay Bar / Detailing Kit

Parts on my list..not yet ordered;

SCT Tuner (cannot order until I get the number from the cars computer)
CAI Kit (still looking for one I like)
Nitrous Kit (might paint the bottle/s G.O)
Short Throw Shifter (looking for recommendations)
Indash Stereo/DVD/Nav System to replace the Shaker 500
18x10" Wheels with Goodyear F1 tires
Shock Tower Brace (one that clears the factory engine cover)
"Boy Racer" Rear Wing to replace the factory wing (painted G.O. and striped)
Hood Strut Kit
And some other stuff I have not thought of yet ;-)

So if all goes well, my car will arrive sometime in November. Then I can spend the rest of the Pennsylvania winter installing all of the parts and detailing. By the time it rolls out of the garage in the spring it will be one hot looking and running GT!

It's gonna be a good Christmas for me this year. ;-)
Stay tuned!

Windows Stickers and Build Sheets

I have asked my dealer to do as little prep work as possible once my GT arrives. I told him that he can check the fliuds and perform any necessary safety checks but not to remove any of the tags, stickers, decals, seat plastics etc. I also told him that he can wash the car but do not wax it. I want to claybar and detail the paint before I apply the stripes.

Other than the Window Sticker, are there any other tags or labels that I should be on the look-out for? I dont want to find out that some highly coveted tag was tossed into the garbage by my dealer.

I know in the past that Window Stickers could be difficult to remove in one peice. Is that still true? I would appreciate some thoughts on the best way to remove the sticker. I know that I can get a pdf copy but I want the orginal too.

Also, has anyone found a Build Sheet in their car? If so, where did you find it? I know that its not common to find a Build Sheet but I still want to know where to look in case I'm one of the lucky ones.

Thanks!

Mark

Well that makes two of us that are now serialized...It feels GOOD...Finally...I had to drop the 18" also. I was told I would be serialized that week if I did...Three weeks pass and nothing...So I let them have it in an email and stated I wanted my original order since I will be waiting over 16 weeks...Yes, I may have over reacted, then I find out I was serialized last night...I do not know if it is the 17" or the 18"...It would be nice if it was the 18" but, I just want my car....17" will do and I will look later for some aftermarket 18" rims...

Well that is all...I hope the rest of you get serialized soon, I understand the next 3 weeks you will see something or you may have to wait untill the Jan/Feb allocation comes out...Good luck...

I'm Scheduled!

BUILD UPDATE: As of 10/17/2006 - Serialized - Scheduled for week of November 6th, 2006

More good news for me...I'm scheduled! ERL says my G.O. will be built the week of November 6th.

I dont think I will see it before Thanksgiving but thats ok. I will still have it long before Christmas. And if the weather holds out I may even be able to drive it a little before I have to put it away.

Please excuse me while I go order some more parts. ;-)

Mark

PS...VanGO...I'm pulling for you buddy. Hang in there!

Blackballed by the ERL!

BUILD UPDATE: Blackballed on 10/24/2006 - Last Update - Serialized, Scheduled for week of November 6th, 2006

Well, it looks like I wore out my welcome with the Evil Robot Lady. She wont accept my calls anymore. I guess a flag goes up in the system if too many calls are received on an individual car.

Now I'm at the mercy of my dealer for updates. That is not good!

Does anyone know a different way to get updates?

What does that mean? What kind of words did the ERL use? There might be another explanation...

When I call the ERL it goes through the normal process, asking for the Order Number, Body Type etc. Normally once you give it your info it proceeds to report the current build status of your car. But now it states that it cannot process an automated response and it sends you to a live person. I dont want to talk to them because I'm sure they will test to see if am a legitimate dealer which of course I am not.

I dont know if this is a temporary system problem or something else. I will still try to call each day and let everyone know if the system is restored.

The Lady is Back!

I called the ERL tonight (10-26-2006, 10:00PM EST) and was able to get an update.

No change of status on my car. Still scheduled for the week of November 6th. I just hope the lady stays connected long enough for me to follow my car all the way to my dealer.

BUILD UPDATE: 10/28/2006 - LOCKED IN - Build week of November 6th - ETA Arrival at my dealer, week of November 24th.

I heard that the Mustang production line was down for 1 day due to an faulty engine hoist or some related issue. I guess that is why my car's delivery date has been pushed back until the week of the 24th.

Wes, what state do you live in?

My Long Torment Shall Soon End!

BUILD UPDATE: 11/14/2006 - Car has been Built and Released to Transportation - ETA Arrival at my dealer - November 18th.

According to the ERL this morning, my G.O. GT may arrive this Saturday!!I'm hoping that I can be there when the truck arrives so I can take some pictures.

Once the car arrives I will start a new thread to show its arrival and document the modifications.

Nothing like a G.O. Mustang to brighten up the long winter.
