Did you get a canadian car? They come with the DRLs set to on.

There is a way. Check the mods and tech section. I assume the process is the same for all Mustangs.

My 2008 does not have DRLs.

The owner of the dealer bought it for himself...Then he dicided to sell it...
The Shelby only had 310 miles on the odometer...

Hmm... sounds like it's either Canadian or he had something like the WebElectric DRL module installed. It's the parking (amber) lamps that are on... right? Or maybe there's some way to do it through the stock computer.

That's not DRL as far as I know. 1st, make sure that the headlight switch is pushed in and all the way to the left (counter clockwise). 2nd, take to dealer... sounds like a warranty issue.

Do they shut off when you turn the car off? (I assume?) If so, that's even weirder.

I'm making a lot of assumptions here... anyone else?

I thought stock DRLs only turn on the headlights?
As I recall the manual warns you must turn on the lights using the light switch at night or you won't have tail lights etc, or full bright headlights.

If that is the case they may have added an aftermarket DRL system

My Canadian GT has DRLs. This is the order they come on on the switch.

1st pos w/ ebrake on: NO lights
1st pos w/ ebrake off: Headlights on dim (DRL)
2nd pos w/ ebrake on: Markers/Tails on
2nd pos w/ ebrake off: heads dim, markers/tails on
3rd pos any: heads bright tails/markers on

So basically if you don't turn the switch to the second position you only get the DRL (dim) headlights once the ebrake is released.
Not all the lights

Finaly took the Shelby to the dealer early this morning, (after driving in the dark)...got it back few hours ago.

Night before I was on the highway driving a friend back to her house when all of a sudden all of the lights just turned off ! Nothing was working, no dash, no headlights, nothing. I pull over to the shoulder to see what the heck was happening. I'm about to open the car door to get out when 'POOF' just like that the lights came back on. They stayed on for the rest of my trip "WTF".

The dealer said they had to re-program the smart Jbox...No more DRL's
As far as all of the lights going off...they don't know why!

They said they show nothing else wrong with the lights, switches, they checked all fuses. There's something

Well, glad it's fixed! Having the lights go out in the dark while redlining a 500 horsepower motor can never be a good thing.

Wow...this is a really old thread..hehe

If your car came from Canada then It was programed with DRL...I believe the only way to turn it off is to have a dealer do it...I don't know how else you can do it...
