From past experiences: special editions and SVT lose their theme, authentic value, and prestige when modifications are done. The originals always look better, that is what sets them apart . I agree with the wheels' assestment and as much as I would prefer Bullitt wheels on mine I would maintained it as designed.

aught,
Rice means excessive "performance" enhancements that don't actually enhance performance. In other words, wings, scoops, "R" badges, etc. Usually associated with Japanese cars, but, it can pertain to American cars that are over the top in styling.

Ohh! The Exploding Sensation from Ford. You got suckered into one of those too? I had two of them, a 4-spd which was dark blue and one with a A/T which was some type of mustard yellow. We can count our lucky charms.

If he ment something about a Japanese car then I am no ricer, I would NEVER own a Japanese car. If it was slang for something else then maybe he should just say what he wants to say, You guys are way to young to know anything about what the Japanese did to Americans. And If Ricer is not off subject than Mothers worry isn't either.

First off, it sounds like you make your cars go fast, which impresses me, but why add/remove things that take away from the overall design. If you like the look of the GT more, it might be a good idea to get one, do all the mods to make it faster than a cobra, for around the same price. It sounds like thats the kind of thing you like to do anyway judging by your description of your previous cars.
While I may not be a fan of all of the things you did to your previous mustang, nor of the things you want to do to the 07 shelby, it is your car and you can do what you want.

Now hold on there a minute, bubba. What the Japanese did to the Americans? What about all the lousy things white people have done to other people in the world for the past 3000 years? Last time I checked, there's no such thing as a perfect human being or society, and whether you're pillaging for the despot (Ghengis Khan)...conquering for the Empire (Rome)...colonizing in the name of the King (England)...or spreading "democracy" in the name of "freedom" (USA), it's all the same thing and there's plenty of blame to go 'round. So what say we stay off the racism, OK?
And just how do you know how old any of us are, by the way?

Hold IT! Real quick....There is a big difference between "Americans" and "white people." Associacting the two groups and somehow sliding the Japanese in there like that really was a bad thing. Just for the record, Americans didnt have anything to do with Rome or Ghengis Kahn. ok...had to get history straight. OK! Back to topic now!

You completely missed the point. The point is it doesn't matter if you're white, black, red, yellow, green...or pink; it doesn't matter what religion or political system you favor - as long as human beings cling to the concept of "the other" (as the poster above has done) and the primitive tribal impulse to make war upon one another, there will be conflict. Sure the Japanese interned prisoners and tortured them. The U.S. dropped "the bomb" on them...twice - the only nation to ever use nuclear weapons against human beings. Who's right and who's wrong? It all depends upon your perspective. I hear us talk in the West over and over again about how our democratic system is "right" - and how we should be spreading it around the world. Well, this week we saw how democracy worked out with the Palestinians, didn't we? They "voted" for a terrorist government.
If democracy is to ever work over there, those people will have to find it themselves, not have it shoved down their throats. If there weren't any oil in the Middle East, we wouldn't care less about whether or not they had democratic governments. In fact, we wouldn't care about them at all.
My point is, too often our hands are just as dirty as those we call "enemy," and at the end of the day U.S. foreign policy is little different from the imperialistic powers that have historically come before it. But as long as you're the most powerful, you must be "in the right"...right?

Japanese have nothing to do with racism. Japanese is not a race and neither is African American, And heres a shock for you, I agree with you, we as Americans did just as much to Japan as They did to us, Maybe more, much more, that don't mean I would buy anything from a Japanese.
As far as age of the group, all you have to do is read there posts, Most of the people here seem to be in there 20s-30s, a few younger and some older.
Modify-ing my car, what the heck people I don't even have it and when I do get it, I will do to it what I want to do to it.
My old car had nothing to do with a ricer, The wing was put on there because I ran 3lbs of air in my 7 inch slicks and at 100 mph the car would get squerlly after the wing install it just squated, The hood scoop had a big hole under it right over a 735 Holley, The fender flairs are to be within the law as far as tire outside the fender.
Geeeeeees, Just stop.

To me a Shelby is not a Shelby unless it has the stripes on it.....big bold ones too....so people see it come-in right through their rear view mirror.I like the hood,I think it looks very cool,...as well as the whole car.

I will enjoy the car immensely. IF it is not someone else's cup of tea, then I hope they find a car that is. I will do some modifying on my car. I've had it planned for many years now some of the things I will get done. Yes, it may lower the resale value but that doesn't matter to me. I'm keeping the car and passing it on to my children. Now before everyone starts to grab the pitch forks and torches...don't worry. I am not ricing out the car, everything I have planned is subtle, the way I like it.
