New Cobra
#1
Friend of mine that owns a Ford Dealership called me yesterday and wanted to know if I wanted a new Cobra. I told him yes put me on the list. How much? He said he has no pricing information yet but as soon as he gets it he'll call me. If interested I will then pass on to the group hear.
I plan on taking off the side and top strips, and the grill cobra, Put some pony package lights in grill and a mustang in the center. Those wheels got to go also.

From past experiences: special editions and SVT lose their theme, authentic value, and prestige when modifications are done. The originals always look better, that is what sets them apart . I agree with the wheels' assestment and as much as I would prefer Bullitt wheels on mine I would maintained it as designed.

I just don't like the Hood, strips, or the cobra in the grill, I like the 4 headlights and a Mustang in the grill. Every Mustang I have ever owned I have made it mine. No Chevy thank you.

I kept the OE Mustang emblem on the Cobra. It is problably one of the few Cobras which doesn't have the after market cobra emblem on it. If I get the GT500 I will keep the cobra emblem since it is OE.

Neither do a lot of the TMS members, including myself but it would be a shame to pass on such a unique car because of the hood. The solution is having a dark color such as Ebony, Vista Blue, or Tungsten Grey and without stripes so the vents will not stand out that much.

I want the dark red color, Im a marron kinna guy.
The spoiler on the old 1969 Mach I made of 8 gage steel and welded it to the body, The scoop is from a charger 6 pack, the side pipes were hooked to headers, fender flares, 428 super cobrajet, 11 1/2 clutch through a nascar 4 speed with 1 3/8 inch input spline, detroit locker 9 inch rear end with 4.30 gears. No power steering or power breaks, Ordered it that way for $3,050.00 in 1968, cregers all around, G-60-15 in front and L-78-15 in back, I sold it about 6 years ago.

I cannot believe someone would seriously consider putting a pony package grille into a new GT500.
(And it's "Cragar")
