GT500s up 87% off the original MSRP, ROFL!
Radio ad: "We have $15M in used cars, many at 87% off the original MSRP, and we need to clear the lot this weekend... no credit, bad credit, no problem!!!"
So I decided to call. RING, RING, RING!!!
Hello?
-- Hi. I was calling about the fantastic sale you guys have on used cars.
Yes, every car here has rock bottom price.
-- Do you have any Mustang?
Of course, we have a bunch of them!
-- Are any GT500?
We have 3 of those babies, with very low miles!
-- Really? Would one those happent to have a A/T?
All 3 of them
-- Excellent! That's what I am looking for. I'd be right over!
Guys: Looks like I'd be the first one with a GT500. I'll post the pics later!

You don't get it?
You might like to consider the fact that no GT500 has been made available to public as of May 19th, 2006. Also, there has been no Ford press releases as to past, present or future plans to integrate a wimpy automatic transmission on the GT500.

Why "settle" for a GT500? You could've looked around to see if there was something more exotic on the lot, ie., of German or Italian manufacture... Buy it at 87% off MSRP, re-sell it for its' "true" market value, and use the proceeds toward the discounted GT500('s). LOL

His objective is to get George down to the dealer so he can try to sell him something. He could care less what kind of vehicle it is, all he wants is a sale.
Those big blow out sales are usually run by hired guns that come in to make fast high pressure sales. Go see the movie "Slashers" for a look into how the system works.

If your dealer does not use slashers, my compliments.
However, many dealers use slashers to clear out inventory they are having trouble moving. A few years ago I made the mistake of going to a Ford dealer who was having a slasher sale. All I wanted to do is to see what they had for Mustang inventory. I was practically held hostage by the slashers, they didn't want to let me leave without buying something, about the lowest slime salespeople I have ever seen.
Whenever you see one of those ads saying "$15M in inventory, 87% off", odds are they've brought in the slashers.

there was a local radio ad from one of the gougy dealers- but the add said 'x dollars below invoice on any new ford' I really felt like calling them and saying I wanted to place an order for a discounted shelby or would have to get a lawyer after them for false advert...didnt have the blurb at the end about 'in stock' and such as is the norm- the add was wrong, I chickened out, but really shoulda called...
