Being a newbie, I have just have to ask...."How does these mods affect the warranty?" I know back in the day, any modification nullified the warranty. But it sounds like things have changed.....have they?
It's basically like this..... If you can afford the car and everything that goes with it, you can afford to have the warranty "voided".

While this is all great news, isn't this car going to weight close to the same as the outgoing Excursion. In fact, who else thinks that this all may just be a marketing ploy to promote a re-skinned excursion (aka Shelby GT500)!!!!

Seriously, what are we looking at, 4500 pounds, w/o driver??!!

Thats not Tokyo sized...would this thing even be able to get up and waddle out of the way of a lumbering giant gila monster????

3850 for the coupe and 4000 for the vert. With 489rw stock @ 4050lbs (coupe plus 200lb driver) the car has the potential to trap 120+mph. With 638rw, again at 4050lbs, that rises to 130+. Pretty impressive for an suv

Ditch the Shaker 1000 radio and you save 75 lbs, which gives you @ 3850 lbs.

Ditch the seats first! Get some nice racing seats...that should save a couple hundred pounds...

Correct! Yet again...

Yes the Shaker 1000 is listed as one of the upgrade options for the GT500, along with the upgraded interior (leather dash) and no spoiler delete.

I threw that last part in as I see more and more people asking about that.

No one should complain about 500hp for $40,000.

I'm sure we could find people to complain at any 35k or even 30k. Some people just like to complain.

My guess is that the spoiler is likely functional above 80 mph or so, so Ford considers it vital to the downforce on the car at extremely high speeds.

Let's see Excursion = 7725 Lbs and the GT500 = 3920 lbs. Yeah that's close.

Let me guess math was not one of your strong points..

3920 is pretty heavy ... But a lot of the cars in the HP range are getting up their in weight. Still, a bit heavy in my insigificant opinion.

Actually, my strong points were satirical sarcasm with intermittent bouts of persuasive positing...

Clearly, you missed the point of the post el literallo. If the ridiculousness of the comment alone wasn't enough to convey the chiding nature of the comment, get off the thread, don't vent your frustration that you'll never get one of these at me...

It's good to see that as this site grows we are starting to get more members blindly willing to go offensive jumping down someone's throat...

How do you know he can't get one? Maybe he did not get your chiding nature?

I was not sure if your tone was serious or joking myself.

That said I think we all just need to take a deep breath and meditate to calm our nerves.

Yes, the car is not as light as many people would like it to be. Unfortunately most of its potential competitors weigh even more and the safety standards are partly to blame for the increased weight of many vehicles today. Still with that much horsepower it will be a fun vehicle to drive I think. I look forward to getting mine and enjoying it to the fullest!

The blue devil is slated to get the LS9. A less stroked/poked LS motor with 6.2L of displacement. It will be a $100K car.
I agree
