This is a truly unique 2008 Shelby GT500. While the idea of mixing old styling with modern performance and reliability is not new, Tony Beam and Tribute Cars, LTD have taken it to a new level. This authentic Shelby GT500 was customized using steel reproduction body panels for the '68 Mustang to achieve a truly classic and unique look. The fenders, doors and quarter panels are grafted steel components for a long life of enjoyable driving. The hood and valances are custom made high-quality fiberglass pieces. The original door handles were replaced with'68 Mustang-style chrome mechanical handles and mated with the internal locking mechanisms to provide seamless functionality. An underdrive pulley on the stock Super-charger allows this custom Shelby to deliver even more horsepower than the stock GT500. I can appreciate and respect the craftsmanship, but that's not my cup of tea.

 

No. The diffences from the production's were the hood, the addition of the mud flaps, the smaller rims, and the rear Shelby emblem.

The custom work is commendable although it's inspiration seems to be another Gone In 60 Seconds version.

 

I would agree. I like the classics and I like the modern, but, I don't like the modern trying to be the classic or the classic trying to be the modern (Eleanor).

 

I like the retro tail light bars. What I think are the back up lights on the bumper look out of place but its still a sweet looking pony.
