'08 GT-500 Power Increase

Rumor is spreading that the 2008 Shelby GT500 produces 530 horsepower. Ford didn’t deny the reports.

The EPA fuel mileage estimate for '08 dropped one mpg:

2007: 15 mpg city / 21 mpg highway (if I'm correct)
2008: 14 mpg city / 20 mpg highway (I know I'm correct)

Why???? Isn't there an inverse ratio between fuel mileage and performance??

The new dampner is there for a reason. The old one was too heavy. I've seen them shear off a highly modded Shelby.

The way they calculated MPG also changed. They are using more realistic ways to test including turning the A/C on, WOT acceleration, and faster Highway speeds. If you want to see a drop, look at hybrids.
