I must be all stock then, for deysha's sake. I've "accessorized" with my corsas, wheels, shocks, struts, springs, shifter, etc...oh and that powdercoated blue thingy atop my manifold. I'm definitely stock

I will also have to add in the base stereo. I like the look and everything, but these have to be the crappiest speakers ford has ever put in the mustang....at least in recent times

Ok, what drives me nuts is the following:

I detail the heck out of my car!!
But after only a short drive the tail end of the car is immediately dusty! (I live in CA and it hasn't rained in months; everything is kind of dusty). The black shiny plastic on the trunk doesn't help either.

It has probably something to do with the aerodynamics of this car. Would a different spoiler help ? I currently have the stock spoiler (as on the '13 GT premium). Do you guys, with no spoiler have the same? Or do the GT500 people also have this issue?

This is an exaggerated photo... I had to drive off road.

Every car is like that pascal. The trail end of every car gets the dust.

Do you mean every Mustang? That's unfortunate.... I'm trying to rationalize a bigger spoiler :-)
My Chevy Volt has it worse than the my Mustang, but my black Ford Edge, hardly shows this.

I have the reverse cam spoiler and mine is just as bad. The aero really sucks the dust right behind the car, and it is probably attracted to that statically charged pos black plastic that scratches when you look at it wrong

Lol, no swirls here…just need to wash with the two bucket method with a quality mitt, and dry with a blowdryer or QUALITY microfiber towels (Korean MF tends to be regarded as the best)…and I wouldn't put ANY more pressure than necessary…a *very* light buff with a towel when drying or using a quick detailer will do the trick.

Actually my decklid is fine. It's my taillights that are scratched to hell. And I do use two-bucket method. New mitt every wash. The lower edge of the taillight pockets is the softest part. The face of the lights and decklid on mine are still perfect.

The taillights are a single molded piece, so this isn't the case. Most likely the lower part that faces upwards just has the most dirt/dust on it. I treat the tail lights the same as the black decklid panel.

Shiny plastic will end up with fine scratches no matter how hard you try. In my case I need reader glasses now so I wash my car without my glasses on. Problem solved.

I throw them in the washer and they are like new again.

My wife's toyota and my silver (SILVER, mind you... The least dirt showing color) Acura still shows a lot of dirt.

That's for maintaining and prevention! . Patricks, as well as 98% of the members here already have the swirls and marring then the prevention will do them nothing. Correction first. With a buffer. Then maintain.

My paint is fine. It's the soft shiny black plastic on the lights. Would the light be okay with a compound and buffer? I'm afraid of making them worse...

I know what you're talking about. Mine has light scratches and scuffs all around the tail lights as well

Yes, plastic lights/surfaces can be buffed. Don't use a compound thought. Just a light/fine polish. Start light and move up in aggressiveness as necessary.

Guess I need to pick up that 3 incher after all hah. I was planning on it anyways, as I really only have one big surface - the hood. Everything else is smaller and tighter angles.
