First off i have never had an issue with my tuner thank god and works great. To make a long story short im buying a boss 302 manifold and a boss 302 jlt cold air intake. The other day i got my tunes and threw them on my tuner and went back to my email to look at the message am sent and it said to put your car back to stock when plugging your tuner into your computer just in cause. I know that if you update it which i have no plans on doing anyways im not having any issues. I called sct and he said that on rare occasions the software wont work right and it can lock up the tuner. Im just wondering if you guys think im on my third set of tunes and the last two I skip that step and thank god havent had an issue i do put my car back to stock before i change tunes anyways but im curious. I can be the only one

I called sct and they told its fine and Am is just being safe so that if somebody starts updating or messing with the tuner the stock file doesnt get deleted.

By "updating" the tuner, do you mean plugging the tuner to your PC, then connecting to SCT's web site to update the tuner with it's latest and greatest device files? I refer to these as patches, to correct the tuner device itself.

By "patching any SW for the tuner operation itself, it should not have any effect on the tune files that are downloaded to a vehicle...one would think.
