Will Ebay flip keys work on the '11-'12s?

I just use my flip key remote by itself without attaching a keyring with other keys on it. I actually have only a lanyard attached to it.

They say you shouldn't have a whole bunch of keys hanging off your ignition anyway... dont know if theres any truth to that.

But I used mine (with my 2011) all the time, in fact its the only key I really use... the original ford keys stay home.

I have heard a lot of negatives about having a lot of keys on your keyring as the ignition key is in the lock cylinder. The weight supposedly wears out the lock cylinder prematurely.

Regardless of the fact that I do not have keys hanging from my flip key remote, I had to have my lock cylinder serviced just before the car went out of warranty. It was hanging up so that it would not turn past the acc position to start it. None of the regular set of keys would operate the lock either. I had to have the car towed to the dealership have it fixed. Later, I did some reading and learned that Ford's late model lock cylinders are trouble prone.

I forgot about the new Ikeyless switchblade remotes. They use the guts of a regular separate Ford transmitter placed in a housing with a flipkey...

Couple questions (since you already have this one from artiway):

- Would one of you mind to measure the flipkey? This might work out well for me - I sometimes go jogging and have a small jogging belt to put my keys in, but the stock key+fob is too long. This might be a good alternative.

- he says "PS,IF YOU HAVE 2 WORKING KEY AVAILABLE,AND YOU CAN FOLLOW THE TRANSPONDER PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTION TO PROGRAM YOUR KEY BY YOURSELF." Easy to do? And does this give you 3 keys total (2 original+this one), or does the car only allow a maximum number of keys programmed at one time?

It's 2 1/2 inches long and you can program all three keys... Very easy to program yourself. Just follow the included instructions. It's all done with a sequence of turning each key in the ignition switch to recognize the security chips then pressing and holding down the driver side door lock switch waiting for the horn beep then pressing a button on each remote to program the keyless entry.
