Why oh why do companies insist on using non standard radio stacks???

You want to have a nightmare? I have a Mazda CX-9. The stereo is double DIN size, but nobody makes an installation kit for a double DIN unit in that vehicle. Come to find out that the radio and the climate control share the same display and circuitry, so it would be quite a work around to get them to work together again, or so I'm told by a kit manufacturer.
I'm wondering if the new stang is that way tooo

Then we couldn't upgrade even if we wanted to.

Just checked the newest picture from ford and it looks like the air conditioning controls DO integrate into the stereo. From what I see, it looks like the temp is set to 84 degrees. Must be cold where they are taking these pics
