I don't think the issue is whether or not he likes it but why they call this appearance package the "California Special". It really doesn't seem to have anything to do with the original '68.5 California Special.

Well, the only difference is that it's not sold ONLY in California. The old one was just an appearance package as well,T-bird taillights, side stripe, different grill. The new one has a different grill, different rear, side stripe. Kinda the same kind of car. I love it,i love as many neat variations on a Mustang they can make.

Well, it was Shelby appearance package, inspired by the Shelby Little Red prototype, with unique Shelby parts (fiberglass ducktail trunklid, Shelby/T-bird-style tailights, square Marchal/Lucas fog lights, Shelby side scoops,etc.)...

I mean, I like the modern CS but I just don't get why they call it as such...

Because it's a fun link to the past, same reason the SVT Cobra became the GT500. I forget the Shelby connections with the old CS,i love that Green Hornet prototype.

Yeah me too. Little Red and Green Hornet were the only two Shelby coupes ever made, albeit only in prototype form. The CS was as close as we got...

Hey don't forget those goofy '69 "Shelby" coupes that were sold in Mexico. I wonder if any of those things are left. I'm not even sure why they were called Shelbys, they had the standard '69 Mustang front styling.....i guess i need to dig out my Mustang books.....

Or they should have made the GT/CS wheels compatible with the Brembos and the tires that are part of that package or just simply use the Brembo package wheels on the GT/CS when you add that option.
I also seriously doubt most dealer employees and especially salesmen would have a clue about any technical issues. No offense to any salesmen here.
I agree, but too bad not all of are wishes can be fulfilled. It's just kind of irritating you know, I don't see why they couldn't have.

Saw in another post that the 2011 Order Guide might be wrong...I seriously doubt it but maybe there is still a ray of hope that the GT/CS will be available with the Brembo package...

Yeah I guess we'll just have to wait a little bit longer.
