What would you like to see?!
I was following an 05 today and i was thinking how cool the rear circular emblem is with the GT logo and where the Shelby logo will go and then I just realized on my 1969 its the actual gas cap and on the 05's and other late models, the gas cap is on the side.
It would be cool to make the gas cap centered on the back; and it would be easier to gas up as well

More horsepower to meet the challenge of Challenger and Camaro. Gas mileage to meet Camaro.
Better looking shift lever for automatic (Similar to T-Bird)

Body color power side mirrors
Heated seats & Mirrors
Larger disc brakes front and rear
6-way power for both front seats
Gas hood support struts
20" & 22" wheels

Driving/Fog lights in bumper rather than grille (like GT 500)
Shorter or hidden antenna
Better center console(more user friendly)

I'D LIKE TO SEE :
Heads up display.
more power options on motor and handling.
I dont want to see the tail lights like a cougar like they did with the shelby is horrible.
I'd like to see original deep dish bullits from ford!! 18x10 back 18x9 front( more is too much, this car need meat on the tires)
rear end options like some GM trucks offer.
I would definetely would like to see a coupe but they wont do it, the convertible with top up looks sharp, and a coupe with a sunroof makes much more sense than a fast back for me.
I'd like to see Ford being more creative with concept cars.
I'd like to see an AWD Mustang on rallye and shovel it up the ...... of the subarus hehe.
I'd like to see standart navigation systems, now most nice cars have it, it should be an option. forsure.
the 6 speed manual.
the hips Done deal.
No matter what they say, they should offer an option of independent rear suspension, there is a few people on aftermarket that are designing it, so I don't see why ford wont (more expensive right?)
It should be a little lower, when I see a fast back 67/68 next to the new mustang, as much as I like it, the 2005 looks like the fat brother.
in general, more options, more special editions, more spice
they need to bring the 428 ram airs back, the twisters, the boss, bullit, king of the road gt500, I know there is people that will pay for the optional equipment.
more agressive back.
what they really need to do, is make better use of all the fantastic new materials in the auto market now.
I love my Mustang more than any M3, but when I see the material quality, and the way they use it, I think why ford does not use some of them too.
Like nicer tail lights, same style, but not just a bulb like in 1940.
use less cheap plastic inside, our cars all have inside rattles that drives us crazy, I would definetely work hard on that to avoid them.
Oh!! I would LOVE to see fat black leather dash cover, same shape, but more or less like the porsche.
I know, I am talking about a 50k car, but I would happily pay 5 or 6 k more for some of this stuff.
If a crappy 350z is worth 35 to 40 K, I would pay that for my car also if it had some of these things.

My list:
- Heated Seats
- Heated side mirrors
- Rubber mats that fit
- Telescopic steering wheel
- Adjustable seatbelt height
- Adjustable pedals (Taurus leftovers ?)
- A decent footrest (with proper covering & angle !)
- 6 speed transmission (not needed but would be nice)
- Door pockets we can actually use
- Map Pockets behind the seats
Not the end of the world, actually !

Auto-stick is only stupid and worthless if you are strictly a stick shift person.
Many of us live in high-traffic cities, and constantly shifting with a cluch is totally tiresome. We would still like the choice of shifting when in less traffic situations. It would be nice on windy mountain raods. After all it has been proven that the automatic is nearly as fast as the stick!

6 Speed Automatic with a paddle shift. Ford and GM co-developed and produce one already. Slap it on the mustang. I always love having the ability to select the gears safely when encountering twisties and what not.

Impossible by todays safety standards.....do you realize just HOW unsafe that is?

Off topic
They probably could have done this on the SN95 stangs, the gas tank was on the back, correct?
On topic,
Obviously by 2009 the V6 should have around 240 or 250 Horses. The GT 330 to 340. I think that heated mirrors, navigation, heated seats should all be optional and standard on all other Mustang variants, such as a cougar.
18"s should be standard on GTs by that time. Oh and they should work on working on gettig rid of the throttle lag issues the current mustangs have, by that time they should be non existant.
Oh and if they are going to add any scoops, please make them functional!!!!

Ford tried that with the Pinto, didn't work out too well.
I wish the key hole was better executed, i.e, hiding it behind some slider plate or something (black GT medallion part). The current one looks a bit red-neck engineered -- like they took a perfectly good design, were told they gotta fit a key hole in there, dug through the pickup truck tool box for a drill and then just bore a hole in it. Sure it works, but hardly a very well executed form follows function design -- more like function foils form. An small detail, but then, excellent design and styling is all about getting the details right.

Like most if not everyone else, more option/option packages. Like a couple of performance packages over what the stock GT would have which would include more hp, 4:10 gears, six speed, etc

Make it a rear drive transaxle...yes...it might require some "creative" engineering...

That transmission would need a major overhaul to handle the power. The 6 speed auto is only good for 300 ft/lbs IIRC.

The 6R tranni used in the Expedition is NOT the Ford / GM jointly developed 6 speed trannie whch is for FWD cars.
The 6R was discussed a while back here on TMS regarding speculation that it would appear in an auto version of the GT-500. IIRC someone in the know commended that the 6R was physically too large to fit in a Mustang.

It's not a question of good or bad. Or better or worse.
It's a Mustang, not a Ferrari. A muscle car should have a stick shift.

That's why I would recommend an Auto-Stick, not paddle. Some of us drive in a lot of traffic, but would like a stick when we are not!

As I've said before, I'm fine with offering an auto-stick 6 spd automatic, however, Ford should not remove the 6 spd manual for those of us who love a true manual transmission and would never buy their Mustang any other way. As long as Ford doesn't see this as a reason to cut cost and only offer one transmission, then bring on the 6 spd auto-stick!!
