2011 V6 stang. 22,500. List was around 24k plus. At the time there was a 1,000 dollar rebate on the 11 stang back in October 2010. 22,500 plus tax and tags. I was real happy with the deal. Edmunds is a great place to get true market selling values.

I'm new here and looking to trade my 2005 GTO of five years (32k miles and bone stock) for a new 2011 or 2012 GT. What sort of deals are you guys getting on these outright - no trade in?

I wanted a white or silver automatic base car, autos seem to be few and far between. Well i found a white GT with 400a package and the following options:
automatic trans - $995
security package - 395
hids - 525
polished wheels - 495
GT package 4 - 750
for a sticker of $36885.00.

With a simple email it went to 32k (rebate/dealer discount), set up a time to met up with salesperson. I get there to find a dirty white GT while i cleaned mine in and out.

Well day one didn't go well, the wanted 20k and my car! I told him his car was a year and half old (6/10 build date) and in Jan. it was going to be three model years old.

He calls the next day with $1500 more for my car or 18.5k and my car. I'll call him if he doesn't call me by the 28th with 15k and my car. If they dont accept it i'll just order a base auto '12 or 13.

Sorry for the long post but what sort of deals are you guys getting?

PS - This was broken in correctly according to a friend of mine that used to be a tech there. He told me the owners son raced the the 11 GT right off the truck against his own 590ish hp 04 Cobra being driven by my friend. Two roll races from 40 mph - both times Cobra spun, he said the GT just squatted and flew enough where the Cobra could make up the difference.

I priced a base Race Red 2012 GT, manual, with the Brembo Brake package yesterday,, MSRP $32,200, After quite a bit of back n' forth and the "If you buy the car right now" ... Price with dealer discount and rebates was 27142 ...

Ford isn't offering much in rebates on the Mustang these days unlike when I bought my 2010 ...

Sorry all, I've been away from the forums for a while. Just to hit back a couple peoples responses. Yes the engine was covered under warranty, still it was rather annoying to have to have a new engine put into the car before the first oil change. It was 32,500 OTD. I payed taxes through Idaho later. I traded a 2010 Silverado in on the mustang for 25,000, which I purchased for 24,500 brand new. I actually had agreed on the price OTD price of 32,500 on the mustang and wasn't considering trading in my truck, but when the sales manager saw what I was driving he was like do you want to see what you could get for a trade? I was curious to see what he'd offer. When he came back with 25,000 I about peed my pants and traded it in. So I ended up only paying taxes on the difference too.

I know people have been saying stuff like dealers won't sell a car under invoice, but this is wrong. A friend of mine is a Cheverolet dealer. He says, that they will sell cars under invoice if its worth it in the long run. A motor car company will give incentives to dealers that sell a certain amount of cars during a time period. Sometimes selling one car under invoice will push them over that magical number which will intern give them a larger incentive from the car company. This of course depends on what incentives they are offering the dealers too. It's all about the timing.

I did a lot of homework and the best deal I could find was $300 under invoice before subtracting any rebates, coupons, 0% financing, etc. I was happy with this deal on an ordered car.

I think $1,000-$2,000 under invoice before rebates, etc. is possible but only on a last year's model lot car that has been sitting around for a bit. My car, had I not ordered it, would never exist in the configuration I wanted and I wasn't willing to compromise my wants for a few hundred or even a thousand bucks. When I see how customers test drive and dealers "wash" their cars, I wouldn't take a lot car unless is was discounted significantly.

Always you should get what YOU want. I have had a number of Mustang's on my 7th. I bought a new 2010 right when they came out after drving a 2008 Shelby GT and then a 2010 and the change in the 2010 was just to good to pass up. Then I found out the 2011 was coming out with the 5.0. I really wanted one bad but resisted the urge to trade mine 2010 in but I always keep looking.

So two weeks ago I found a 2011 GT, Sterling Gray with Bembo, 3.73, NAV, HID, etc all the options I wanted but didn't get and only had 8600 miles on it. Original sticker on this car was over $39K. I got it for $28K.

So my small moral to the story is like a lot of other folks on this site we love cars and want what we like but my lesson is don't be in a hurry and always keep an eye out. There are deals out there and in the future I would always take someone elses depreciation instead of them taking mine!

da-mn....you might get to modding a BRAND NEW car sooner than I did I started modding like crazy at 56 miles on the virgin odo. I figured I'd "feel" what it was like to drive stock. It was nice for 50 miles... then I said, "ok, time to REALLY break her in" Hehehehe.

Edit: you will love the GT500 muffs and MRT struts... you need to get the MGW shifter. That my friend, is a must.

Not sure what you are saying. Are you selling or buying? Are you saying you are getting it for $500 over invoice before rebates?

Correct. That was the price that was emailed to me by the dealer. It's a Premium 400A car with comfort package. I am buying.

I know pricing varies by region and all that,, but 29,9 +TTL is too much ..

A quick paroose of FleeBaY shows a 2012 GT MSRP 35,460 with a 28,629 BIN price ...

So, I'd say 28,250 +TTL would be a good no haggle price for that car ..

Good luck ..
