What did you pay for your 2011 - 2012 GT?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and looking to trade my 2005 GTO of five years (32k miles and bone stock) for a new 2011 or 2012 GT. What sort of deals are you guys getting on these outright - no trade in?

I wanted a white or silver automatic base car, autos seem to be few and far between. Well i found a white GT with 400a package and the following options:
automatic trans - $995
security package - 395
hids - 525
polished wheels - 495
GT package 4 - 750
for a sticker of $36885.00.

With a simple email it went to 32k (rebate/dealer discount), set up a time to met up with salesperson. I get there to find a dirty white GT while i cleaned mine in and out.

Well day one didn't go well, the wanted 20k and my car! I told him his car was a year and half old (6/10 build date) and in Jan. it was going to be three model years old.

He calls the next day with $1500 more for my car or 18.5k and my car. I'll call him if he doesn't call me by the 28th with 15k and my car. If they dont accept it i'll just order a base auto '12 or 13.

Sorry for the long post but what sort of deals are you guys getting?

PS - This was broken in correctly according to a friend of mine that used to be a tech there. He told me the owners son raced the the 11 GT right off the truck against his own 590ish hp 04 Cobra being driven by my friend. Two roll races from 40 mph - both times Cobra spun, he said the GT just squatted and flew enough where the Cobra could make up the difference.

Click the link in my signature and my window sticker will pop up. After the dealer invoiced all my options, I spent about 2000.00 less !!!

I presume you mean after rebates, right?

No sir. Under invoice, PRE-rebates. Rebates only sweeten the deal.

Where did you get that deal? That's way below market. Good job.

Market price for a ford is usually factory invoice minus rebates and incentives. The invoice can be found at edmunds kbb or any number of sites. The rebates are at ford.com. I recommend Negotiating the car and trade separate get the market price on the car then work on the trade.

Under what circumstances? Dealer holdback is only 3% so a grand under invoice for the MSRP the OP mentioned is almost zero profit. Now if you mean with incentives, certainly. Also it could be done with a car that's been sitting on the lot like the OP's example. If the dealer wants to move it.

I don't have one yet, but with X-Plan I plan to pay around 35k for a 2013 GT Premium with Brembos and Comfort Package.

This website helps.

Here is close to what I'd pick, 35k msrp, less than that with xplan.

All the cars that I sold to fellow members back in 2010 were at $300 over invoice less any and all rebates. It was a good enough deal that 15 fellow members bought from me.

To the fellow who got a car for $1,000 under invoice..congrats but that's your thing and not the norm, BELIEVE ME!!

Personally, I don't expect anyone to work for free so that is where I always like to say a good deal for a car is anywhere from invoice to a few hundred over invoice (unless its a Boss or 2013 GT500).

I'd agree. That Dealer Service Fee ($599. ) put me somewhere around a few hundred over invoice. But I knew it was coming.

You must have some thick skin to stay in sales?

BTW, when do you see Boss cars coming in under MSRP?

Thanks for the post. Yeah, I guess I have thick skin. I've been doing it for almost 15 years but am only 35 year old. I hate dealers who put that "service fee" in their prices. Just a way to get more profit!!

As for a Boss 302 under sticker. If a dealer is stupid enough to hold onto them too long and they have a 2013 sitting next to it, I know I would sell the 2012 under sticker to move it.

401a
Shaker 500
power/electric plus (heated seats power seat)
MSRP 38,900
-2000 Ford rebate
-2000 USAA discount
-2,400 negotiating with dealer on the last day of the month and they are willing to sell one more car way under price to get a better Ford incentive for that month. Winning!

Out the door 32,500. Engine blew up before the first 5000 miles though FAIL.

$38,900 - $6400 = $32,500, so how is this OTD?
