I'm being told that the DS is a double-walled unit and internal weld(s) might've broken, or that the front or rear cv joints might be coming apart.

I will remove it and bring it to a local shop that does a lot of driveshafts and apparently has repaired and re-balanced a lot of DSS ones ...

That sucks.
Did they say how the welds inside could possibly break? Sounds like it happens a lot if that shop does a lot of repairs to them.
I don't think there are many choices as far as drive shaft companies go are there? I know there is Steeda, but not many. Most people seem to use the DSS. Good luck Gabe!

My driveshaft right now is a DSS unit.

The factory 2-piece unit is in the basement, getting re-installed Sunday

The test-drive after that will tell me if I have another problem or not.

I know you are putting your stock driveshaft back on, but are you getting another driveshaft from that company? I don't think there are many choices outside of them, are there?

I actually didn't put the stock shaft back on, at least not yet.
Still missing the bolts that put the 2 halves together.

So the car is currently up in the air waiting for this shaft to be repaired and re-installed.

Bringing it to a local machine shop that's worked on a bunch of DSS's and having them look at it tomorrow

Nope. DSS's driveshaft warranty is 1 year.

You're welcome.
As far as the new wheels, 2 more are on their way to me, I still need to order front tires and TPMS sensors, then i will have them mounted/balanced

I see. I'd hit them up then and see if there's anything they'd be willing to do for you. I'm pretty sure they've redesigned their products within the last 2 years.
