The vinyl roof thing kind of ran its course back in the late '60's and early '70's. Maybe it depends on where you live but for me the lighter the roof color the better, and I would avoid egg-frying black at all costs (unless the rest of my car was black). Just my opinions, it'll be interesting to see what others chime in with.

I've thought about it on my Vapor Silver '08 Mustang. The roof has some paint flaws in it, and rather than having it repainted in the stock color, I've considered getting it done in black. Probably a satin black vinyl first, then painted later if I like it well enough. My Mustang is always garaged and driven mostly at night (I work nights) so the sun/heat issue doesn't affect me much.

150+ views.. I was hoping for people's opinions of the idea itself and how it would look
I guess I will do it and find out myself... haven't seen a Mustang with blacked out roof so was just wondering.

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. I will go ahead and do that when my car arrives then I'll upload some pictures.
The shop near my house does tinting and vinyl so I can get that done all at the same time, which I plan to do right after I drive off the dealership.
edit: Oh, 2x thank you. Just realized it also has black louvers. Or maybe a blank plate like the GT350? Or even just the window tinted + the angle. Either way, I let my imagination do the work. I was looking for a non-chopped pic of white Stang and black louvers for a while. Still not sold on it, though. Was planning to tint 35% and 20%. But it doesn't look that bad.

You can order it direct out of Ford and have the delear install a vinyl roof top. Of course by doing so, it's probably a bit more expensive then say a shop or doing it yourself perhaps.

Go under hood graphics and then you'll see an option for roof.
