No risk. If you are that worried about it, keep the original bracket and reinstall prior to taking the car in for service.

 

How long have u been using redline MTL?? I got the fluid and haven't gotten around to changing it, at the same time I'm nervous a out changing it... I have the Barton with 2post bracket installed and no issues yet besides cold notchiness which I can avoid being very careful... Mines 2011 with about 8,800 miles

my car has 8k on it and the clutch shudders when taking off really lightly and something vibrates like the exhaust around 1500 RPM. should see when it goes in for it's first service.

 

Is the OEM clutch a multiplate unit? If so, it may explain the sound I’ve been hearing when engaging the clutch.

Updated: Tech said it is the 2-piece driveshaft. Took my Manager for a spin (owns two SVTs) and says both of his make this noise, as well..).

 

Ah, yeah that one took some getting used to for me too. It's possible to smoothly shift and eliminate the noise but I probably hear it 2/3 of the time.

 

10k miles on my 2013 and not a single issue with the transmission. Wouldn't change a thing. Sorry to hear about the problems some of you are having. Too bad yours isn't as good as mine!

 

I guess 12 years driving a manual AWD car before the Mustang has paid off for me; I don't find the MT82 w/ stock shifter all that bad really. No, the shifter is not butter smooth, and the gates are "notchy" with a very positive snick as the shifter fully engages in any gear, but I don't mind it. It suits the character of the car pretty well (even though I'm sure it wasn't intentionally designed that way). The Mustang is not a subtle instrument, from any angle.

It is not a shifter to be slammed around or manhandled, that's certainly true, but I'm used to that from my WRX. Now that car had an un-cooperative gearbox, and missing shifts in an AWD car is not fun times. OTOH, my buddy's Scooby BRZ shifts like a Swiss watch compared to either the WRX or Stang. That car is stupid easy to drive.

 

I must've changed the stock fluid right around 500 miles or so. Car now has 1700 miles, don't drive it much, but i'm glad with the change.

As far has how the tranny behaves in cold weather, i couldn't tell as i'm not driving the car in the winter.

Don't hesitate, you'll definately see a difference.....not night and day difference, but a very pleasant one. Less notchy shifts for sure.

I know it's another expensive upgrade (under 700 when on sale at Lethal Performance), but the DSS Alum 1 piece shaft solves this problem. Plus if you swap out the stock one the same day you are installing the MGW it makes it easier with the stock shaft out of the way.
