I have a 2010 Mustang V-6. My question is related to the Sync system. Anyone know if there are any updates? It's Sync VersionGen1 - V3.1. I am hearing that there are newer versions for the 2011 & 2012 Mustangs - is there any such updates to my 2010?

+1 on syncmyride.com Since sync is working properly for me and with my phone, I don;t want to update it until I have to. For example when the pandora app update becomes available.

 

My 12 is using 4.2.

 

The latest version of SYNC is as follow:

2010 - 3.1
2011 - 3.2.2
2012 - 4.0.2 b

You should all be able to stream Pandora through Bluetooth audio. However, the AppLink feature is only available on 2012 model year at this time.

Is there a reason that Sync doesn't get software updates between model years? It seems silly to me if the hardware is the same that the software would only get updated by a new car. I have a 2012 so it doesn't concern me at the moment but am curious what the official stance is.

2012 is different in what it can do compared to the 2010 for sure. Not sure what the difference is between 2010 and 2011.

 

I've tried this 4 times on different USB drives, but after using the web tool to copy files to my USB drive (freshly formatted, tried FAT and FAT32, and 2 different drives), I plug it in after starting my car and it does not do anything. Every time I go into MEDIA > USB, SYNC lady talks about detecting a new device. But nothing that tells me the tool is being downloaded to the drive. Any tips?

 

I have a 2011 and I have 3.1, it doesn't show any available upgrades. How do I get 3.2.2??

 

 

SYNC software updates are released as they are necessary, usually based on customer feedback. They can be released at any time.

Which update are you trying to install? Once the USB is in place go through the following menu sequence:

Phone button > ADVANCED > INSTALL APPLICATION

Depending on what menu your vehicle is already in you may have to do:

Phone button > RETURN > ADVANCED > INSTALL APPLICATION

I plugged several different VIN's into that website. Looks like 2010 and 2011 are stuck at version 3.1 ... 2012 gets version 4.0
