Upgrading the Factory 8" door Subs in my 2012?

Has anyone upgraded there door subs? It sounds to me like the factory amp has more power then the subs can handle so I thought about upgrading to a better sub that could handle the power. Has anyone done this and if so what brand sub did you use?

I used the direct kicker drop in replacements. They sound fantastic, no more bottoming out, and can easily handle much, much more power.

How difficult was the install on a scale from 1-10, 10 being a nightmare and 1 being someone else did it for you for free haha

Mike, did you upgrade the amp as well, or just do the speakers?

Just the door speakers and door subs.

I've thought about re-amping the door subs, but they sound more than good enough to me now.

Plus with more power in the doors, they would just rattle like crazy.

I've been debating doing these recently. Do you have a pic of the door panels with them installed? I'm anxious to see how the whole system looks together.

I've thought about picking up a stealthbox for the trunk and sticking a small sub in there, but these might be a cheaper and effective alternative in the short-term.

Steve, i can help design you a proper sub for the trunk that will both sound & perform better than these replacements.
