SYNC and iPhone update...FYI

I have noticed a few threads regarding the SYNC and iPhone compatibility problems. I just thought anyone here with an iPhone or iPod touch would like to know that the bluetooth audio problems have been fixed with the new iPhone/iPod 4.1 software update released yesterday. I tested it out and all of the bluetooth audio commands now work with the Microsoft SYNC...well at least in my 2011 5.0 . I'm actually not sure how much Ford changed the Sync with the 2011's vs the older models with Sync...

Hope that helps.

Hmmm, my BT audio works great, but the USB doesn't recognize my iPhone (4.0 software.) I'm getting the 4.1 right now, in hopes it helps everything. Thanks for the heads up.

What does this change exactly? New functions? I hadn't notice any prob's except that very occasionally the BT would cut in and out on my 3gs running iOS 4.0

Several of us have had problems with the i-phone "killing" our USB port when it is attached...even if it is just charging and indexing and not playing music. If this happens you have to pull the negative terminal on the battery or the SYNC fuse to get the USB port live again. It kills it for everything...not just the i-phone when it happens.

The update also helps the communication with bluetooth devices as well, I use a Jabra Halo when I'm at work with my iPod Touch and now the skip forward/back functions work finally.

I have never had an issue with my iPhone in my 2009 Lincoln MKS or the Shelby. I guess I am lucky
