Yet...

Just know when it you here it start to pop in the not to distant future, that it's just the upper strut mounts.

Don't worry about proving me wrong, this is 7 year old information I'm sharing here.

Just trying to pass along accurate information.

There will always be the exception to the rule, but the rule still stands.

These are one time use strut mounts.

The amount of misinformation on this forum is getting scary!
We have successfully changed springs on stock strut mounts thousands of times since 2005 with zero problems.

There were issues with strut mounts back in 05-06 and Ford revised the design. There we also issues with some aftermarket springs (not ours) not being clocked properly for proper load distribution against the strut mount in 05/06, but this was not the only source of strut mount failures as the mounts were failing on completely stock cars.

We actually talk about the spring clocking issues in a tech article we released that is still on our website from back in 2005. You can change the springs and not touch the strut mounts. They are NOT one time use.

Can they still be upgraded? Yes, and we have the upgrade for it which is more durable under hard use and gives you camber adjustment as well which the factory mount does not provide.

As far as the original OP's question I think you would be happy with either one. Although if ride quality is your main concern I would probably look at our Ultra-lite sport springs instead.

I've got several guys just on this forum alone that have contacted me personally because either they or their significant other who rides with them was not happy with the ride of the FRPP springs, put them into Ultra-lites to solve it and made them and their significant other happy again.

I can say the FRPP "P" springs without struts can be a bit bouncy at times. It appears that the springs create an under damped scenario for the suspension. I'll address it later, but just wanted to give the OP the heads up on that.

Gus, you recommend the ultra lites over the sports for ride quality?! The ultra lites have a bigger drop correct?

Which would you recommend with a set of RTR wheels?!

I have a pretty good tool kit and stuff and I did almost all the work on my 89 and so far did everything on the 2012 myself. Just thought suspension stuff might've been too involved for a driveway job as I have never ventured into it yet.

Thanks for the help

Are you going to do struts down the road? That might make a difference. I can't comment on the Steeda springs, but I haven't seen any complaints about them. On the FRPP springs, it fixes the wheel gap perfectly IMO. If you're running RTRs, you might want to keep it to a smaller drop. The offsets on those wheels don't like anything too severe. Shaun (Stinger) had to roll his front fenders with the 1.5" springs IIRC.

The Ultra lites sit just 1/4 inch lower than the sports. They will work perfectly with those wheels.

And the decent ride quality will still be there? How much loss of ride between the sports and ultra lites?

I have ultralights on my car with stock shocks/struts/strut mounts and the car handles/rides fine. I have noticed a little bump steer on a couple specific crappy NENC roads, but nothing that is too terrible. I am planning on new shocks/struts and the addition of an adjustable panhard bar and quite possibly new Conrtol arm relocation brackets (to eliminate wheel hop).

And it sits just how I want it to..... Level

Haha, that's cool do you need to apply for a credit card though?!

It's not really the cash, just the timing. I didn't think my wish was going to be granted so quickly
I was thinking around Christmas time. Do them as my new years project, but I may have to cave in and get them soon
