Steeda Q-Series Hood
I was going to let this go, but I simply can't. Why? Because I just don't understand a few things, and anyone who bothers to read the entire thread will see what I mean, but I will summarize here to make it easier....
First, on the comments on how we treated you on this issue
That is certainly not what I said, here are my quotes from this thread so everyone is clear.
The quote above was post#9. I've bolded certain statements with a purpose, which will become clear in shortly.
In post#15, 908SS comes in and mentioned the same thing, and says the body shop should have adjusted the fenders.
So you then take the initiative to try and adjust them yourself, which I applaud, but then you go on to say this...
Seriously? Did what I say 6 posts prior with the exact same suggestions disappear? No, its still there. I just copied it and pasted it into this post.
Yes, your stock hood did fit perfectly, why? Because it was adjusted at the factory, including the fenders, they were adjusted too to match when the car was built. Once a new, different hood comes on from any manufacturer, there is a likelyhood it will have to be adjusted. Meaning the hood and the fenders need to be adjusted. It it certainly not always the case as you always see variance from car to car, but it is definitely a possibility even on a new car with no crash damage.
It is my strong belief that the phone conversation on this subject did not seem to go that well for the exact same reason that what I said here was ignored in this very thread, because you were so fired up about everything going on that you were not going to pay attention to anything we had to say. We did not stand a chance from the beginning.
In this thread our attempt to help with the correct information was ignored until someone else said the same thing, and now you are also bashing the product because of a small variance you will find in ANY aftermarket hood and can easily accounted for during installation by any semi competent body parts installer. You were convinced your installers were competent, and its become pretty clear they were far from it by everyone's statements, including your own.
We tried to provide the correct advice and help, anyone reading this thread will be able to see that. But only if they bothered to read the entire thing, so that is why I have posted everything in this condensed format for everyone to see and judge for themselves.

If the car was in an accident
The car was not in an accident, it is not an adjustment issue. You keep saying that while ignoring the FACTS. The phone conversation went the same way, they said it had to be my fault because Steeda products are perfect. Then how do you explain the size difference and the fact that it bolts on crooked? You can't so you childishly attack me, great example Steeda is setting here.
Stop focusing on the imaginary belief that my car was wrecked, and address the facts. I offered to PM you my VIN so you could carfax it. I talked to the body shop and they said they could EASILY see that the hood was messed up and din't want to try to adjust it because it was so crooked they didn't want to damage my car. That was my misunderstanding, BUT I offered to PM you the owners name and number so you could find out for yourself. Instead you come on here with this CRAP!
I'll be taking the hood off my car and returning the suspension parts and Tri-Ax as soon as they come in today. Thank God for reliable companies like Americam Muscle!!!
Hence why I said...

Even if you install the stock hood again the fenders will have to be adjusted again since they are now adjusted for the aftermarket hood.

Yes it was, that is why you had to adjust the fenders, because the body shop didnt do so, which you stated you chewed them out because of it.
No it's not, I measured your hood and it's off, even adjusted it is still crooked, did you read wht I said or do you have issues understanding?
In addition, someone else gave you the advice that it is a two man job to do it right, so you still need to have a competent body shop finish the job.
Good thing there was 3 grown men there when we adjusted it!
Even if you install the stock hood again the fenders will have to be adjusted again since they are now adjusted for the aftermarket hood.
Would take me 5 minutes tops to put back in stock position.
EDIT: Messed that up somehow, have to read all bold in the quote as well!!!
I sit 10 feet behind the person you talk to, and that is not what we said, that is what you HEARD, because you were not listening to us, just like you didnt acknowledge anything I said in this thread to help you. You took the advice after OTHERS told you the same thing. You did not accept those answers until someone else told them to you.
Here you have proven yourself a liar. I'm soooo sure you have the time to monitor EVERY phone conversation that comes in.....ROFL! We asked if there was anything we could do on our end, Frank said he would have to get back with us, and he NEVER did!!!
Already did, but ignored once again
Humor me and answer it again. WHY IS THE PHYSICAL HOOD YOU SENT ME SO MUCH SMALLER THAN OEM?
That can be one of two things, either the already exhibited incompetence of the shops you dealt with goes well beyond their inability to perform a simple fender adjustment, or there was something wrong with the hood. Since we Q C the hood before shipping I find #2 unlikely, but either one is certainly possible.
Or from bad workmanship on your end. The shop said it was so bad that it actually over lapped the drivers side fender, they didn't want to mess with it until they talked to me. Great Q&C.
Im not, my statements clearly outline that this is what my sales reps are trained to ask you, not once have I said your car was wrecked, and my rep did not say your car was wrecked, I sit right by him, but he did ask if you about it as he is trained to do while troubleshooting.
You went from sitting behind him to sitting right beside him, I call BS yet again. Doesn't matter where you pretend you was, it's your word against mine, and I actually know where I was sitting.
I have already, don't need to do it again.
Where? Still haven't answered why it's so much smaller. Was the size difference on purpose?
We did not ask or need that cause again, we are not saying your car is wrecked, we simply ask that when an issue like this comes up, it is what my reps are trained to ask as part of our troubleshooting.
But you won't answer why your hood won't fit. Yet, you keep saying it must be my fault even though I have given facts it's not.
That was after you called out how bad a job they did after you adjusted the hood yourself. Sorry but I don't buy that.
I didn't know how bad the hood was, just had to talk to the right people.
It is what it is, we still stand by our position. This was an adjustment issue. Good luck with your car. We will offer no further comments on this.

Have fun dealing with the BBB.

Hopefully this thread will diffuse soon and we can get back to talking about the OPs beautiful car.
I always support the customer so it pains me to say that any aftermarket/added part that is not built factory OEM is never going to fit within stock specs. The hood especially. Factory parts are produced on larger scales than smaller companies such as 3d Carbon, Steeda, Cervini.
However, an experienced body shop will get pretty darn close and you will be pleased.
Btw Aftermarket parts are never finished to a degree and usually require a large amount of prep. The worst of this is Saleen inc. however, their disclaimer describes them as "rough" lol...understatement to say the least. Roush is a good company doing great things with the thermal injected parts...anyway...once again you need an experienced shop.
I wouldn't blame steeda. I just wouldn't buy anymore from them. The real problem lies with your body men. They caused a lot of unnecessary trouble because of their lack of experience.
Sadly, my sixer has been hit a few times while parked and I feel your pain.. your car is new, it blows my mind that your body guys couldn't handle that.?!
Sorry once again. You invested some good money and deserves better. Just my thoughts.
