Steeda 2011-2014 CAI & Tune Review - A Must Have!

Here is a customer's review of the Steeda CAI & Tune - real feedback/testimonial!

Review: Bought the Steeda cold air and SCT X4 for my 2012 Mustang GT automatic car. I have had 4 Mustangs to date all with different degrees of upgrades. Two 06 cars with Saleen superchargers. The 2012 current car started with a Procal tune, then the Steeda cold air with the X4 tune. Last week I finally installed Steeda custom 91 octanes to see the difference between the boxed X4, and the Steeda tune. I could not believe the difference. This car is chirping the tires shifting to 3 rd gear and I am running 285 Michelins living at 5500 feet in elevation. Car now runs like a Mustang should. Really impressed with the Steeda tune and cold air kit.

Best Regards,

TJ

Are there any discounts available just for the tune? I already have the SCT tuner. Or do I have to wait until the next big holiday?

I like mine. I have the 93 tune and the 101mm MAF CAI from Steeda, and the car feels more lively. Not to mention sounds fearsome over 4000 rpm.

The only issue I noticed over the last year of ownership is in this situation:
2nd gear
holding throttle at 4000rpm
jump on gas pedal

I would expect violent acceleration or breaking tires loose right away, but instead I hear the whoooshing sounds of the intake, but nothing happens for 0.5s, and then the car accelerates with an oscillation.
If I do the same thing but roll onto the throttle it accelerates just fine.

This is the only issue I've observed in the last 7000 miles. Other than that pure awesomeness.

I've had the steeda Intake and tune for about 3 years and I guess it's the 101 and I live it, it's just like its low on power down low i can floor it and very little happens until about 2500 to 3000 then she flies and was wondering if you have an upgrade on the tune, I'll be getting another steeda tune when I put on long tubes and off road x pipe in a few months I was just wondering if I can enjoy her a little better in the mean time.

Ah, this reminds me. I have gotten to the bottom of this issue:

Few month ago this happened again, but there was a definite aggressive cut in engine torque just after the engine started revving up. And I realized that this is actually the engine torque management part of Traction Control System decreasing engine torque as I go to full WOT. If TCS is off the car accelerates just fine. So the issue was TCS not the Steeda tune. So I can say I've had 0 issues with my Steeda intake and tune over the last 2 years.
