Status update?

When everyone was calling Ford Customer Service last week to see what their status was I jumped ship and called as well. When I called they told me it was sent to the plant on 4-20 and was in production ( this was last tuesday). My window sticker became available the day after I had called with a build date of the 27th, so I called today on my lunch break and it still has the same status and hasn't been updated since the 20th. Do they regularly update the vehicle status after it's been built or will I not see a status change until it's been shipped?

They told me it updates eveytime the touch the car or change the order. My order stayed in the same status from 4/14 till 4/24 and is still in that status. It does not update everyday. On 4/14 my status was awaiting shipping ETA 4/10

4/24 status changed to released -awaiting shipping, ETA 4/29 last updated 4/24

They can tell you the last time it updated. but its not unusual for it to not change for over a week.

It's nothing like tracking a UPS package.

My status has been the same for two weeks now.
ETA 4/23.
Originally 4/17 then 4/23.
It was built on 4/13.
I called today no change.
So I guess it is sitting somewhere buried in a row of cars collecting dust.
One thing I have noticed looks like most of the cars that have shipped are automatics.

Source I was told the Sticker Date is the day it should start production. Ive been told thats the Blend Date although I cant vouch for that.

Mine was 4-19 then was rescheduled to 4-26 when the plant went down for the week.
It was Produced (Finished) on 4-28. On 4-29 it shows "Ramp 5 - Awaiting Shipping".

My Blend Number was 7290. Look and see what yours is on the sticker. If its after mine I have to assume it may have never started last week. If its before its possible it could have stopped in midconstruction because of the stoppage and may have been "cleared" from the line to allow the Hold Units to come back through. Your partially completed car may have then been rescheduled and blended back into the line (the correct parts have to "meet" your car at each station).

Call them late afternoon tomorrow and hopefully your file will be updated.

Disclaimer: All of the above is complete conjecture. I have no inside knowledge.

8630. Was your build date the 28th or 27th?

Nevermind I see. So even though the window sticker says the build date is the 27th it probably wasn't since it has a blend of 8630. This is confusing.

It started on 4-26 (Thats the date on the Window Sticker and taht Ford Customer Service said it started) and was produced (finished) on 4-28. I dont know how many hours the cars take to produce but obviously more than 16 hours.

Source I really dont know. As I understand it he VIN Numbers are not scheduled in order but the Blend Numbers are. However then they start rescheduling things and moving different cars around and who knows. With an original date of 4-20 vs 4-19 for mine I would say one or both of ours have been moved to much to really tell. As they were originally scheduled (at least as I understand it) I think the cars should have been about 2 days apart. Ive been told they can make 300 cars a shift or 600 per day.

I do know this. GM's system makes lots more sense when it comes to tracking your car. At least at the Corvette Plant.

From some of the other stuff I read on raptor forums I'm starting to think the date on the window sticker is the build week. I'll call tomorrow afternoon and see if it's changed at all.

Thanks.

Mine was 'scheduled' first, then 'Sent to Plant', then 'Body Shop', then it was 'Produced', then 'Released', then Sent to 'Ramp 51', now it is in 'Transit'.

The dates on the window stickers cover every weekday the plant is open, so it's not the build week.

Well no change as of today, still shows last updated on the 20th. The other retail cars from my dealer which were all automatics were sent to the plant on the same day and have all checked in at each station per my dealer, so im guessing i got owned for having a 6 speed and brembos.

Looks like too me no six speed manual or Brembo cars are being shipped.
My ETA today is still 4/23.
The same date for two weeks now.
While I do understand I am a little frustrated that my car has been built and has been sitting in a parking lot for three weeks now.
Plus people who have ordered their car after I did are getting theirs.
Looks like it did not do much good to get an order placed early.

I didn't call Ford all week with the hopes of getting a VIN/build date. Called today and nothing.

Bah.
