Stangnet says there WILL be a 2010 Boss Mustang. WTF?
I wish I could remember where I read the article but I remember something to the effect that the Boss would be very rare. Like 500 or so units and that it would kinda be the Cobra R of this generation. I hope i'm wrong though because I'd love to own a Boss 302 (my dad has a 70' Boss 302) and a car with limited production like the Cobar R models are out of my grasp.
Yeah, a tape/stripe package would be a no-no.
I'm pretty sure out of all the names/badges... ford would not screw around with the Boss moniker.
Truth be told, I'm sure we would have had one in this gen (or even the last gen..remember the 04 was suppose to be a boss at one point...but they just extended the Mach1) but they couldn't find the right mix of parts.
If we do get a BOSS, I bet it will be unique enough...
but I wouldn't look for anything crazy.
The parts are out there anyway.
Look... easy enough...
Power... 5.0L-premium tune, 6 speed, 3.73s gears (from the bullitt)
GT500 brakes, strut brace, wheels, suspension.
ALL doable with limited budget.

I hope not, as cool as the 70' stripes were I think Ford should do something new and mix in some modern looks along with the heavy retro theme. Think about it the Boss was made from 69-71 and all three years had there own different stripe kit.
When I was at the Denver Auto Show, the guys manning the Ford booth informed me that there WILL be both Boss and Mach 1 Mustangs available in the future.
Thought I'd pass that on- can't confirm it, but if the Ford guys say so...

As usual, a waiting game. Mach1, Boss, GT350, SVO the rumors continue. We all know the Camaro will be a beast, and its fact that the Challenger SRT8 has IRS & 425hp, and the RT will have 370hp(Automatic) & 375(standard).
I am a Ford/Mustang guy, have been my entire life. But, I am not feeling too well these days.
Ford needs a Mustang with 350-400hp and a price tag under $35k. The Challenger RT is starting around $30k.

I am fine with a $35k 375hp-400hp car. That's only a couple thousand more than a 315hp Bullitt or 300hp GT/CS.
Even some Mustang GT Premiums are in the low $30k's!

I'm sure ford is going to do something to combat the 400+hp offerings from dodge and GM.
We'll just have to wait and see.
It's actually a really good time for us- we are going to be able to have a good deal of high hp cars to choose from.
