Should I trade my '06 GT for a 5.0?

I just got my '06 GT in March, but ever since I rented a 2012 GT, the power difference just keeps tempting me to trade mine in and get a 5.0 now. I don't want a brand new one (not a fan of the 2013 styling) but a used 2011 or 2012 6 speed would be what I'm looking for. My current car is an automatic and I think the manual would be more fun. I wasn't picky on the transmission when I got my '06 because it had everything else I wanted and I was upgrading from a Saturn SL1, haha. What do you guys think?

You got to rent a 2012 GT? Yes. Do it.

I live in San Diego, so yeah, you can rent pretty much anything here.

It was one of the Kona Blue 5.0's that Hertz had as part of the "adrenaline collection" along with the Challenger and Camaro.

Ah, I got a chance to rent the new GT-H in Vegas, but what a difference between then and now. Did they disable the advance track button on the new 5.0 as well? Anyway, I can't imagine you would ever regret that move if it is financially sensible for you.

Is that the button that lets you put the car in sport mode? If so, then no, I could still change that.

If you got the cash, go for it. If not then pay this one off if not already paid off and save up till you can comfortably afford one.

If you're thinking a brand-new 2013 Mustang, then no. You are only 17-months away from the all-new 2015 Mustang, and you will likely be kicking yourself for swapping out now.

I like your reasoning of buying used. Smart.

If you can locate the color/options you're looking for, go for it. You're in a good position in that you have a Mustang, so you can take your time. There are tons of 5.0's out there on the market. Many more to come when the new 2015 model arrives, so your selection will get better.

I feel like I will upgrade AFTER the '15 comes out, so the bugs get sorted out in the '16 or '17.

I got time, less than 350 miles on my stang now and loving it

This is what I've been lusting after...

All of the appearance mods I've been doing to my '06 have been me trying to make it look like the '10-12 styling and the power doesn't even compare.

Consider an auto, far fewer problems and similar or better performance.
