Shocks and Struts

hi
so I just picked up mt Steeda Sport Springs today. I know I can install them without getting after market shocks and struts, however to be safe I want to get them anyways.

i live in Toronto Canada and i can not find any dealer that sells the KONI STR.T so i decided to get the Ford Racing shocks and struts.

anyone have that set up? steeda sport springs and FRPP shocks/struts???

can I also get the part # for the ford racing sport shocks struts

any Help is greatly appreciated!!!

I think you should check out stranoparts.com for the koni shocks which is what everyone around here seems to recommend and is probably a better combo along with the springs you just purchased. They happen to be on sale too, which is even better!

Ohh, and here's a link to the thread.

yup buy em from sam. he's got a big sale on the koni's right now anyways.

only problem is that there is a delay in their production so they're backordered.

already asked him. it would be a logistics nightmare and would probably cost a lot of $$$ for freight.

The FRPP dampers really are not worth it. Koni STR's or get the Tokico D Specs, bit more but adjustable.

I believe there's a Steeda canada website as well:

Doing this is pretty much the worst idea ever. The factory shocks/struts are designed to work with the factory spring in terms of dampening and rebound and things like that. The ride will be really bumpy and harsh.

Whenever you change the springs, all of the dynamics of the suspensions behavior is totally changed in a way that the stock shocks/struts are not properly calibrated for and the ride quality (and more importantly) the performance will plummet.

From everything I've read so far, the 2011 shocks and struts as it is are just barely adequate for performance. I'd say that upgrading shocks/struts and leaving the stock springs in place would yield a FAR superior ride and easily out perform a 5.0 with lowering springs and stock shocks/struts at the race track and ride WAY better.

Anyways, for what it's worth, me and about 3 other buddies back in college tried the springs only swap and all of our rear shocks were blown within 4~5 months.

If money is tight, get the Koni str-t's and do it right the first time. Nothing sucks worse than doing it half way, breaking something and then having to scramble to find replacement parts and pull the whole suspension apart AGAIN to fix something that should have been replaced the first time the suspension was apart.

my 2 cents (and what I'll be doing on my car when it shows up) i ordered the koni's already and haven't decided on springs yet.

I also want to voice a vote for going with sam strano. He gives so much to these boards in terms of knowledge and yet when it comes time to order many over look him. His prices are very very good. His knowledge is abundant and he seems like a nice guy. I'm already planning to give him a call after I get the bad news from my accountant for this years taxes. I always have to pay extra.... drat!

He already said he spoke to sam and freight/customs charges would be too expensive.
