Those 4.6L 2010 turds have 325ft-lb of torque at the peak, which is what you feel in the seat-of-the-pants around town. That's a 45ft-lb difference over the 3.7L's 280.

^^ YES

finally someone said that..

People don't realize that Horsepower sells cars but TORQUE wins races....

We might have only "10 less horse power" than the 2010 GT, but they have torque everywhere which makes up for everything else.

No I meant that everyone got off topic until it was somewhere in outer space. We are prepared for lift off here....10, 9, 8, 7.....

I wanted a GT500, Got the GT. HAPPY with my GT. yeah would of loved the GT500 but I'm still modding my GT and making it mine. It's a hot looking car. You should make that V6 yours. Might as well since it will be yours for the next few years. Change the exhuast removed the badges and no one will know any diffrent. If you want more POWER them do the power adder. KEEP THAT B!!!

My 07 3v turd smoked a couple of 3.7 Stangs before I traded it.

I heard they had great crack on the east coast but dang...

my insurance is 82 a month...

the v6 only gets 4-6 better mpg(thats what the sticker says). Maybe the GT would be double the cost because you would enjoy it so much that you would drive it twice as much..

What in the world makes you think it would be better in the winter???

I bought my used 2011 V6 with the leather, performance package, and shaker option along with it's GT wheels for 19K at a Ford dealer. It had 2K on it's odometer when I bought it. I never buy new, as the depretiation of a new car purchase takes at least 2 to 3 years to even out. You are experiencing this.

Your never going to recoop your money the first 2 to 3 years of a new car purchase. This is why the dealers have leasing. Folks that want a new car every 2 to 3 years are best to lease, as buying and trading in will show you a loss every time. Only the rare or limited production models do a little better, but those are not the case with a Mustang V6.

I know you never intended to buy and sell so quickly, but unfortunately, you are experiencing the problem with buying new, and trading in early (within the 2 to 3 year timeframe).

I get 19mpg in a full bolt on 440+rwhp car, you can keep the other 2-3mpg in the V6. You save $8-10 a fill up but I have $8-10 worth of fun in my V8.

My insurance isn't horrible, I pay $170 a month, I am 22 and I hold full coverage, GAP, and all the other small things so the insurance thing is out the window. I bet it would be $150 to insure a V6...

And please, please explain how the SAME car will do any different in the snow? In fact, the V8 might do better as I can use torque....

^^^^I would hope not. My gt averages 21.5 and gets just over 25 on the freeway. I have more fun with it than I should also

Ouch to the 170 insurance though, my full coverage with 1 million in property damage is just under 100 a month

At your age and considering how upside down you'll be, I personally would hang onto it for a couple years. Pay the loan down, save up for a new down payment, do your homework, don't be so impulsive, and you can score a 2015 GT at a great price.
We might need to consider that when the '15's come out, The Powers That Be might have mandated that we all start buying 40 mpg cracker boxes burning $7.00/gal. E-85 pushwater, and Gas Guzzler penalties may be in place, to boot. That's just speculation, of course, but such scenarios would have OUR late model ponies looking pretty good, would they not? Just my $0.02.

That's a point I have been stressing to my parents lately. They feel that I should buy something cheaper, and leave myself with a smaller note for a shorter time. However, I like the current version too much to pass it up. It has just about everything I want, and I for one love the 1970's retro looks. Those awesome looks will disappear with the 2015's and the 5.0 might be regulated out of existence by then.

I did trade in my rental 2011 Impala (yuck) for a 2012 V6 Charger today and I must say that after being in that car for a little while it is tempting to go back with another Charger. I could get a nice new V6 car with plenty of luxury options for less than the Mustang, but I would loose the main thing that I currently desire: the burble of a V8 under my hood.

ashamed V6 owners!

stop coming on here to talk about how you want a v8 but can only afford a v6.

nothing we say will help you magically afford a v8 or suddenly fall in love with v6's.

Buy a v6, enjoy the car, realize that's all you can afford, and move on.

Try and find a CD that has V8 engine sounds on it and listen to it while you drive.

I want a Lamborghini LP670-4 SV, but I can't afford one right now, so I will just have to settle for buying used in a few years.
