Radio screen will not turn on - 2010 GT

The radio works, just the display won't turn on. When I turn on the headlights, the climate control and radio buttons all light up, still not the radio screen. All interior lights work.

Things I've tried without success:

* Pulled and replaced fuses 39, 29 and 3.
* Started car without a Bluetooth connection.
* disconnected battery for 8 hours.

I'm at a loss guys. I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I think I replied to your post on the other forum, but wanted to give you a reply here also: it sounds like the problem is internal to the radio (burnt out light bulb?) or perhaps there is a fuse in the wiring behind the radio; unfortunately no easy fix that I know of.

Thanks for the response! I'm trying to figure out the location of the fuse behind the radio console before I start taking things apart. Any idea where that might be?

I am not sure if there is one . . . best bet would be to find a wiring diagram but I'm not sure where to find one . . . Cruchfield has good installation instructions that might show it

That display doesn't use a bulb or led. It is a VFD like on a VCR/DVD/Blu-ray player or single-din aftermarket radios.

First confirm it is getting power. If so, then possibly the display driver failed or a solder joint(s) on the display went bad. Solder joints can be re-flowed it that's the problem. However, replacements displays are $40 - $90 on ebay.

There should be a pinout around where you can see which pins on the harness are power and ground to confirm whether or not it is getting power.

VFD = Vacuum Fluorescent Display
