pros and cons
My 2013 gt repainted hood from 3 years ago is starting to bubble really bad again. Im thinking about just replacing hood at this point even though i love the design but i have no choice. These two are my choices

Pros: They won't bubble up because aluminum! ![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Cons: Fitment can be... fun. Heavier than the aluminum. Those smaller style hood struts won't work for long with them and you'll be back to using the support rod. Ask me how I know.
I'm gonna have to try those much longer ones that fit mid fender, but that gets in the way of workin' on the car... And eventually, maybe, the plastic may crack or deform or something. Plastics do that sometimes. The fix, though, is pretty easy, just apply more resin or get another one and repaint either way.
I went with the Cobra R hood from Cervini for my '06, partly because I was in the same boat, but definitely because the truck ran into the aluminum one and messed it up. You can't really body work aluminum, it just won't work well. So yeah. New hood anyway, forget going stock. Paint's holdin' up, the hood looks good. Fitment is okay (could be better, but even a Shelby hood from '66 is super awful in comparison, mind) and I am happy for doing the swap. I don't even regret getting rid of that aluminum hood with prejudice. Do it!
