procharged 5.0

hey guys, i saw this on all mustang forums. i didn't feel like creating an account to ask the question but in the article (http://www.stangtv.com/forum/prochar...ger-7062.html#) it says it has forged internals, i thought something in the engine wasn't forged at was considered the weak point...anyone know?

The only weak point that I know of when it comes to supercharging is the compression ratio, and that's only because you have to run a lower amount of boost. A lot of people argue that it's not a bad thing, but till lots of people prefer 9-10:1 compression ratio for supercharging.

Mmm that's sexy. And the lowered CS looks great in black!

Once again... with Ti-VCT you can lower the dynamic compression ratio of the engine simply by retarding the intake cam so it stays open past the beginning of the compression stroke. This gets you an actual (dynamic) compression ratio of around 8-9:1.

i'm not talking about compression, i thought it was either the pistons or the rods were not forged

Connecting rods are forged, forged powdered metal, nowhere near as strong as forged solid steel.

We'll see how it all holds up to boost, there will be plenty of people push past the limits so all will know what they can stand, or can't stand...

This. Forged powdered metal does not mean forged steel. Not as strong. But I'd wager that these cars will be able to run up to 600whp without being torn in to.
