I wish I could, but finding the time with work and everything would be impossible.

Yes. Values will continue to sink, and more cars will be up for sale once the weather is nicer.

46k miles isn't a ton per se, but 46k miles is 46k miles. If I'm paying $20k+ for a car, it should have half those miles or less.

First: Seen it, like it, but don't love it. I'm not crazy about tan interiors. Plus over $22k

Second: I love terminators, but I need something just a little more practical (I know I'm buying a mustang, but come on, can you imagine sitting in the pouring rain in bumper to bumper traffic in that terminator. That'd be god awful.

Third. Seen it, but no red. Non-negotiable. I don't like red that much and it's the biggest cop magnet, especially in NJ. Also over budget

$22k MAX BEFORE TAXES. Not a dollar more (okay maybe 1 dollar more, but you get my point)

Sorry if I sound rude guys. Didn't mean to come off that way. It's just that I need to know if I should buy this car or wait longer. Obviously the majority thinks I should wait. Let me find out some more info on this car, then I'll make a decision, but I'm leaning towards waiting now from your opinions

I see your point. Man no offense. 22k and not a shilling more is leaning towards V6 territory. Have you considered the 11 and up v6. It's quite peppy.

To me it is high miles as my 12 (bought Oct 2011) I traded in only had 4,850 miles on it...I am sure there are other garage queens out there you can find that have low miles and have not been beat to ****...just be patient and keep looking..maybe extend your range a bit....

and remember they usually have at least $3,000 to $3,500 plus of profit built into that price....you should be able to get them to knock quite a bit off their asking price if you like to negotiate...

Shame you can't stretch the budget and just get an airline or train ticket...they have 3 at this price, plus there were them and other dealers that had quite a few just above that price:

So what do you guys think this car is actually worth? $19.5? Less?

Autotrader links never seem to work

Last edited by alecmets2011; 3/13/14 at 10:24 AM. Reason: Never mind. Works now. I've seen koons before. I remember them selling new 2011 gts for 23k just as 2012s we're coming in.

Kills it for me. I respect the V6s and all the owners here, but I really need the sound of that 5.0 in my life

Then you need to pay to play. If you buy a car like the one in the original listing then you will have bigger problems to worry about than fading steering wheel buttons. Not being mean.

You really need look into shipping a car to you if your serious. You can't wait for one to fall into NJ that's exactly your taste. Shipping is 500 bucks max and places like carmax ship free.

Having owned a new V6 and just making the jump to a CS last month, I can tell you that you will be hard pressed to find a good used 11-up GT at your budget. Some V6s sound quite good also. I can confirm.

Please (everyone)!Don't knock red, Older cobras or convertibles until you've tried them. Still don't after that. Take JCs advice. Pinch pennies for a few months. That's the way to go.

That's why this thread, among other things, has reached suck status.

Surely you aren't the type of lark who walks onto a lot and pays what the dealer is asking? You should be looking at cars costing around $25k-$26k if $22k before tax is your true high budget.

On the other hand though, you shouldn't be maxing out your budget to the last dime if it impacts how you live otherwise, either.

I'd keep looking, you may need to settle a little bit on options.

With that in mind, what would you pay for this

Not bad, but I'm betting they're not Premiums. Being a Premium isn't one of my requirements, but I can't see myself paying that much for a non-premium. I know it's brand new, but I'd take a used premium over a new base. I've just about had enough of the cloth seats in my current car.

The tune would be the deal breaker for me, plus what's left of the engine warranty is gone because of the tune. There's just no way to know how the car was treated. I know it's hard, but I say keep shopping. Good luck.

Sounds like you want a premium v6 for your price range and situation. I would not buy that one in your first post OP. To many people buy used cars and then come on here b/c they are having problems with it and the one you posted has a tune on it. Seems like a bad deal to me. You have no idea what was done with it. For 22K you can get a v6 premium new or fairly new <10K mi. You can try to tell a dealer to find you one and see if they can trade for it or have it shipped to you but it's hard to negotiate the price on it that way.
