Well, despite being plenty strong, homemade wood ramps are not particularly convenient to use or to store.

I have 4 18" 2X12's I pull up on when I wash the car to be able to get the whole tire at 1 time without moving the car and they alone are a pain in the buttocks.
The Rhino Ramps are light enough I can store them on top of my shelf, those wooden ones are not light. I used to use a set to get my Peterbuilt up high enough to get a 5 gallon bucket under the pan bolt when doing oil changes, it was in 2 pieces for ease of moving them but I was going up 1 foot also.
BTW The Rhino Ramps are for a 12,000 pound vehicle and can pick up 3000 pounds each for 6000 pounds on the set. Not 12,000 pound per set.

Safety is far more important over convenience IMO, but point well taken nevertheless

Yes indeed, 6000 pounds for either the front or rear sections is more than adequate enough to handle a 3500-6000 pound vehicle

I had homemade wooden ramps & was happy the day I gave them away, a pain to move them around & store. The guy I gave them to trashed them after a few uses. I got RaceRamps & he got Rhino ones. We are both happy with them....

I've been very happy with my Rhino low profile ramps and have no regrets whatsoever.

Do the Rino ramps work with a lowered Mustang? I remembered the last time I went for an alignment it just made it on the machine.

I drive up on my 2x12 to clear the front.

The low profile Rhino ramps do indeed work with a lowered Mustang.. My Mustang is lowered 1.3" in the front and 1.5" in the rear.. Links are attached below..

I think my Front Splitter sticks out more, although mine is only an inch it was scrapping coming off even super slow.

With a front splitter, there may not be quite enough clearance even with Rhino low profile ramps.. You may need to consider Race Ramps which offer more lower profile options..
Otherwise, your probably just better off continuing to drive up on your 2x12's to clear the front

Finally got to this this weekend. Was a nice smooth change all things considered. The scariest part was driving up on ramps with a manual RWD and no spotter, hah!

Learned it's necessary to change the oil filter while the drain plug is still out. Over a cup of old oil came out the drain while I was unscrewing the filter!

Also learned to hate the **** airfoil that you have to drop down to get to the filter. Just made a mess of all the oil I couldn't catch in the ziplock, hah. Forgot to get the form-a-funnel, will definitely get one for next time to see if I can avoid that SNAFU, hah. (also, yay for oil blankets).
