Oil change ?

Since I bought my 2013 GT this past summer I have had the dealer change my oil twice. The slips both times says they put in 8 quarts of 5w20 although when I check it right away it reads down on the stick not quite half way down on the hash marks is this correct for 8 quart fill or should it be all the way up to the top of the hash marks on the dip stick?

Oil cold? Hot? Engine running? Off?

It's likely fine, how many miles are on the current oil? Some Coyotes burn a bit of oil.

Cold or slightly warm... after sitting for several hrs... the dealer is right down the street so when I get home I park it for a while then check it.

You're fine. It should be about half way up between the lines on the dip stick after the oil change.

I would say yes because even though I don't have personal experience with running fully synthetic in the Ford 5.0, I did used to run fully synthetic Mobil 1 in my 98 chevy truck with the 5.7L V8 and this truck used more oil when running the Mobil 1 than it did with regular conventional oil. I eventually quit using Mobil 1 and went back to a conventional and my oil consumption went down.

Synthetic oils have their place but they are not the end all, be all of oil. I have never read or heard of any study that proves that a fully synthetic oil will make an engine last longer than a conventional oil.

I think even the taxi cab tests that Consumer Reports did in the 90's came back inconclusive on the comparison between the two.
