It's hard to relate to people over text. I am not mad at all, an I think we can come to an agreement. We purchased our mustangs for different reasons, and ^we are different people. Hows that?

I believe this thread just asked 1 simple & harmless question. We've seemed to take it in another direction! Well I'm 33, disabled, & can't work. I bought my car mainly cuz they brought back the motor! I sure am loving how it looks, though. I just see where I am, in my life, I feel I've won the lottery when I found my car! Every time I get a compliment it's just more than a saying words to me. I could never forget I bought my car, still hard to believe she's mine!

my favorite comment I got was when I was driving down a side street and there was a few kids playing on the sidewalk and this little girl, no more then 8 or 9 yells out "nice car!!"

haha little girls aren't suppose to notice cars!

I have to admit this Mustang gets a lot of looks, especially from the old folks, my age, in their Buicks, as I pass them on the Interstate. I love it!!

I have been followed twice by the Highway Patrol, and I think they just wanted to see the car. One of them was in a new Charger the patrol just started using.

I also notice a lot of people in Ford pick ups slowing or passing to take a look. Most of them are in their 20's or 30's.

So far, no negative comments, just smiles.

All I know is I pulled up next to a stock 2010 SG GT in traffic at a red light, except I didn't see it at first. After the light turned green, I looked over and thought, "Hey! A Mustang!" I see the guy looking over at my spear stripes and see him lean a bit to look at my awesome PP wheels, just before he rear ended the crappy Camry in front of him.

Sucks though.

I've gotten the most compliments from guys in big trucks. One on a Harley pulled up to chat. Some guy in a Beemer.

The area has a high "Persian" population (I've since moved). Most of those smug little pootangs with daddy-bought A4, G35/G37, Z, 3-Series, etc. would never fully appreciate an American car, regardless of the number of cylinders. Plus, they all think they're hot ****, having never worked a day in their life, driving $35k-$40k cars. But, hey, that's a whole another can of worms.

I'd rather take a compliment from a blue-collar than a no-collar anyways.

they`re that way cause they`re stuck with an ugly pig of a car and that`s all they can get

One thing I know for a fact is these guys and girls on this forum all have one thing in common here. The love for our cars. Loving the attention we get when driving is just a perk. Kinda like a proud mom with her kids. I love when people say how adorable my boys are and I didn't have them so I can get compliments but it does feel great to hear. This is just a thread how we can brag a bit. So your comment does come off wrong. Some of these guys are prob the age of your parents and have owned mustangs for years I'm sure their love for their cars is more then just to get a compliment or a stare here and there.

Well said, Nikki.

Back to the point of the thread, I'm looking forward to seeing what attention my '12 gets - when I can quit staring at it myself and actually go somewhere. My '05 got a lot of attention from 50-60+ year old men, and boys especially the little ones. One time a mom thoroughly embarrassed her sons by telling me that they were arguing about who "got" my car while we getting gas.

I bought mine because it reminded me of the late 60's early 70's style mustang. I get looks all the time driving to and from work by all different types of people. Even though mine is not a 5.0, i still love it.

Exactly, so if someone told you that the reason they had kids was to make themselves look better it would be ok? Octo-mom is a genius!

Look dude, watch what you say. Whether or not you meant to say it like that, you did belittle Mustangs on a Mustang forum. Don't even try to relate anything to parenthood or defend a stupid comment that you should just let be. This isn't high school anymore. You are not right, and it is time for you to behave now.

Can you point to one post in this thread where someone said they bought a Mustang primarily to get admiration from passers-by? I guess the rest of us aren't purists, because among other things we like about our cars, we also enjoy getting an occasional thumbs-up from somebody. Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I smiled when a stranger asked me a question about my Mustang.
