I have crotch rockets want to race me all the time. Some Ferraris too, and a Lambo. No thanks. I like my insurance rates right where they are.

 

At South Burlington, Vermont yesterday on Dorset St., at the stoplight a Monster Energy Drink pickup truck was revving his engine. I didn't race him when the light turned green but he revved his engine again as he matched my speed while I was rolling. I didn't react to it so he just sped off.

 

Honestly when I had my 3v every yahoo and his mother wanted a piece, the problem was that I gave them a piece and then some. It didnt matter if it was an evo/m3/350/370z were the worst or even rice. They all got what came to them.

Now I have calmed down quite a bit with my driving, and I mainly drive on weekends as I don't dd my car anymore.

I have had a few wannabe racer types come up on mine, the moment they see the 5.0 badge they back down before starting. I even tried to entice the occasional guy (insert performance oriented vehicle here). Not once did they even bite. So I drive like a grandmother getting 17mpg in the city in 5th......... Its lonely sometimes... Not that I would at this point, have the wife attached at the hip and she would kill me.

All I can say is I miss my 3v and no wife days.

 

Yeah, that's pretty much the story of my life. I drive a '13 RS2 Roush and I assume the Roush along the windshield makes it "Fast". Hell, on the way back from the dealer(like I owned the car all of 10 minutes) a new SS Camaro tried to get me to race on the highway. I just laughed and shook my head "No". Even had like a 91 Celica try to mess with me on the highway as well. But mostly it's the either the Camaro boys or Honda boys that mess with me.

Prepare yourself for everybody in a Honda to bounce of Rev-limiter.....

 

Don't know how old you are treborwd22, but your attitude is very mature. Keep us 5.0 drivers in line in the future.

I have a huge problem with people driving trucks.

Last weekend I took my GF toa wedding in wine country and while merging onto a highway, a guy in a Dodge Ram was right on top of my rear bumper at 65 mph. I hate people that have to prove something. I wish hitting people with lead pipes was excusable by law in certain instances. Why put our lives in danger because you feel you have to show people your *****?

 

That's pretty **** funny lol. When I was younger, I used to turn the washer nozzles on my mom's van sideways and spray down people on the sidewalks. One time the light turned red and this angry homeless guy charged us. I was stuck behind two vehicles and I thought my buns were toast. Green light saved the day. Last time I ever did that.

Never thought I'd post in this thread this quickly; but....

I took delivery of my car yesterday. On the way back once I hit the city traffic, a 335i white BMW finds himself next to me. I can tell he's a tuner, as the exhaust note is not standard. He looks over at me while we're at the light. Light goes green, and off he goes. Only problem is we're 6-8 cars back in the pack, so he goes off and decides to weave in and out of the pack. Crazy. As I slowly pull away and follow traffic, I'm just thinking to myself "Will I have to submit a statement for the coroner's report?"

 

I mostly get guys in diesels. It's retarded the number of guys driving them that will go out of their way to try and race.

 

I usually slow down and force them to go around me

 

A v6 camaro was revving his loud exhaust while cruising beside me. Lol Maybe next time I do a agressive downshift..haha

 

The worst case I've had was on a back Road where the speed limits 55. This older lady in a newer Camaro was riding my butt and I had a slow van in front of me. I went to pass the van in the oncoming lane so the Camaro wasn't on my bumper and as soon as I get beside the van I hear her car flooring it right up beside me halfway off the road to the left of me kicking up rocks so I hit my brakes and got behind the van so the debris didn't hit my car. I've never in my life seen a car try to pass a car that's passing somebody already and end up halfway off the road all the way on the left side. I thought she was going to kill us.

 

I get those a lot too

 

That's usually what I do, as well. I didn't want to scare my GF - she had no idea what was happening. Totally fried my banana.

Me and the lady went out last night to dinner, cruised a bit afterward. Had a red 350z roll by revving lol, about a half mile later he pulls off in the left turning lane and gets stopped, I roll through and open up the side pipes on him. "Not today junior!"

Would love to know what he said/thought to himself.
