not a race or kill thread, but does this happen to you?

Coming from a V6 in which I hardly had this problem, but ever since I have been driving my GT it seems like every yahoo wants to race me.

First day I picked it up, had a fox body want to race. (I didn't oblige). Had a kid in a power stroke trying to taunt me into it a week later. And finally today while going to Lowes with the wife with the top down. I had this guy in his 50's in a Silverado take off fast from the light , I sped up trying to get over lanes and he decided he wanted to floor it. Well, let me tell ya even with 2 people and in a convertible I still got a nice little 2nd gear scratch. (not racing but merely using extreme forward momentum in order to switch lanes.

Looking back at all the other mustangs I have owned to include other GT's and a 97 cobra, I have never had this happen on such a regular basis.
Anyone else notice this on a daily/weekly basis?

I had this problem while I was in my 6, everyone wanted to line up.
Everyone...from day 1, every **** day. The 94 Race Tune helped, but not much..

Got my 14 GT not too long ago, so far nothing, no one wants to play, line up, etc.

I've found that people around me on the road get really racy and the courtesy that I used to get while driving the 12+ year old Accord has disappeared.

Heck, I would expect the little Honda Vtec'ers and the like.
But this diverse group has thrown me for a loop. A power stroke diesel, Silverado, and a old beater of a fox body (looked and sounded stock).

A chipped diesel will break some hearts at a light. Personally the only thing I've had mess with me was a 94-95 5.0, and i was like really??

I just laugh and shake my head and keep on driving.

I get more yo-yo's who just want me to spin the tires for their amusement.

It's definitely the 5.0 emblem. NOBODY tries to race me in my V6. I've driven the car for 2 years now and can count the number of people who have made an attempt at a street race on one hand. The most I get are people who try to speed up on the highway as I pass them.

However, I drove my brother-in-law's 2011 GT for a couple of days and had several people try to race me in that. My brother-in-law (He's a Houston cop) even had to flash his badge once because the guy next to us was putting on such a spectacle trying to start a race.

I have it happen all the time. I roll the window down and never acknowledge their existence. Makes them pissed im sure that they keep revving and honking while I don't budge. Every now and then I get a ricer revving at a light and I just rev it right back loud as hell then I will look over and shake my head no.

Happens to me all the time too, in my 03 GT, not in my 00 V6. I think the people who clearly know they'd lose, just want to entice us to rev it up so they can hear our exhaust and live vicariously through us...esp the guy in the Taurus wagon. Maybe he used to have a Mustang and then his wife made him get rid of it because baby?

Same here. I also love the ricers that roll by, and rev the bees up. I ain't gonna bite though. I'd like to keep my license.

I fricking hate those cars. And the RX's. And Prii. I can't help but purposely cut them off, because I can't stand looking at them in front of me.
