I didn't go for the Recaros. I picked the glass roof instead. If they had given me more money for my trade in, maybe I would have went with them but I'm really looking forward to heated seats. Never had them before

Your weight and height will be the difference on whether you like them or not.

That brings up another point about heated seats. In a dream world I would want heated recaros. I know you can have heat installed into the them but im not sure what that cost is. And second is that I don't want an aftermarket switch to control them. The only option I have found is too order the comfort package and then buy recaro seats, install heat into them and have it controlled by the factory switch on the dash. but I bet when its all done it would have cost 5 grand.

Yep. Idk if it's worth it. I gave up the luxury of heated seats for the luxury of recaros. Seriously a first world problem lol.

Im doing exactly this. Couldve spent another 1600 on OEM Recaros but they wouldnt match the back seat and we usually get pretty cold winters so even more than the heated seats, I wanted heated mirrors. And Ive since learned that you can mount Recaros on the power seat tracks. If you went Recaros from the factory, youd get weight savings, but no power on either side, no heated seats, no lumbar, no heated mirrors and no pony projectors. Ford Racing Recaros can currently be gotten for $2500 and hopefully cheaper soon. For the extra $900, Ill get both and switch the seats out in the summer, which will save on the wear and tear of both seats & covers, so I wont even bother spending $ on seat covers. The FRs are cloth, but I figure 5+ years from now Ill get some custom leather blue/black Recaro covers and eventually end up with the best of both worlds and more. Recovering isnt all that hard so it shouldnt cost you $5k; just the cost of the seats and the $400 ($600?, I forget) for the comfort package, plus the cost of two OEM heating pads/harnesses if you want heated Recaros, $500 from Ford maybe, but probably found way cheaper somewhere else.

Speaking based on the 2012 model, the GT premium seats were the most comfortable, but want to confirm that if you do any kind of "driving," you'll wish you had recaros. I love slip-n-slides, just not when driving.

Agreed. The leather recaros can't hit the market soon enough. I NEED them!

Guys. Upholstery shops can do anything y'all want with the recaros. Leather, heat, custom stitching. It's really not that expensive compared to new seats. I'll bet if y'all search enough, there are aftermarket leather kits for them already available. They are easy to recover yourself.

Nah man. It's only ghetto is you ask for ghetto. There's a few shops here that do some beautiful upholstery work. If I find me some recaros for next to free around here, I wouldn't mind getting them covered to match my interior in the cobra.

I did aftermarket seat heaters and lumbar on my 07 but just want to try to stay as close to factory as I can with the interior on mine this time around, with the exception of the EP b/c it limits your options. Just my personal wish.

I bet that will be pretty hard to find Al. There is very high demand for those. May be a while till they drop in price!

You can definitely have the Recaros upholstered (and I agree that a good upholstery shop will do a fantastic job) but I LOVE the way the oem upholstery looks. So I will wait until they (hopefully) hit the aftermarket.

If they don't, I might just go with the Recaro Sportster CS... or have the Ford Racing cloth ones upholstered...
