no piston oil squirters for 2013 5.0. reasoning?

It has to be a closed door reason(s) with management but would love to know the real story. As for longevity for me, My 12' rolled over 12k this week and it couldn't be stronger. Steeda 93 tune since the beginning. I've heard different rumors but nothing concrete. Any ideas, thoughts, or heck.. first hand knowledge?

Seems obvious to me. A change to the piston design made them unnecessary resulting in a cost reduction.

...and a reduction in windage losses that the oil squirters introduced (which supposedly accounts for the extra 8hp).

Probably a change for the better but so far it looks like a wash.

In theory , wouldn't oil squirter pistons increase longevity and non squirter type promote horsepower? As minimal as both reasons are, it doesn't make sense for the change unless Ford was saving money. Are the non squirters that much cheaper?

each oil squirter lets say is 5 bucks to put on, 5*8, 40 dollars per engine, and 1million engines per year... you get the picture...

A while back, the airlines reduced the number of peas that are in the meals aboard. they saved millions of dollars per year doing it.. I know, funny, but the little things make a big differance when they are mass produced.

Late 12 5.0 stopped using the jets. Early 13's were not using the jets. It seems ford is using the cooling jets in the 13 now.

it helps lubricate and Cool the pistons, mainly for cooling them though, it helps when running a lower quality fuel, reduces detonation

And helps counter issues from the higher compression.

So I assume the oil is shot from under the piston otherwise oil consumption would go up, right?

And this thread discussed the change in piston design that allowed elimination of the oil squirters.

Ok my car was built 2/27/12 which I think was the 1st day of 2013 production so does it or does it not have the sqiirters and if they no longer have the squirters did they go back to the original pistons too?

My car was built on 12/08/11 which was supposedly the cutover date for the engine change. So I have no idea if mine has them or not.
