My informal polling shows:

- current owners and Mustang loyalists dislike more than like the '15 by about a 2:1 margin
- people who float between cars or haven't adopted strong styling or brand preferences really like the '15.

Sounds like 1964 a little (a LITTLE). Those hoping to attract a new fan base may be pleasantly surprised.

I just wish they could have hit it outta the park for the fanboys and girls with more unique styling (than the family look) and lighter weight...

I still say that once all those whom buy a `15 because they think its " tha bomb " that domestic sells numbers are going to flatline and then tank sometime during the 2016 production year. Overseas, however, will be a banner year.

This car`s front design is too polarizing, and is setting up to be a large scale corporate disaster not seen since the release of "New Coke" in 1985.

On the whole suspension thing, Motor Trend did an AWESOME job summarizing the Mustang's rear suspension from birth to the 2015, including a lot of detail on where Ford is getting the 2015 parts from. Check it out: http://www.motortrend.com/features/c...n/viewall.html

Doesn't mean they are ecstatic about certain design elements. Doesn't mean the design team should (and could) do better than feverishly trying to narrow the front end look to a corporate branding (rather than model specific) - as if that somehow compels people to think "omg - look it's a Ford front end - I have to buy one now!".
I think we are all forgetting that the 2015 will be the first time Ford goes Global with its mustang. The front end design is similar to euro spec supercars like the Astin Martin.

The V6 gets no frills because Ford wants to push american buyers into the Turbo version at the very least, to prove it can compete.

IMHO. I will be hanging onto my 2014 for a long time to come. And regardless of what Ford says. The 50th anniversary of the Mustang started in April, 2014.

Ford is making a mistake by not offering the V8 version overseas though. A huge mistake, that one. Hopefully one that will change rather quickly. And no offense to anyone, but I bet Ford has issues with the IRS for the first couple of years. They do not have a great track record when adopting euro-tech into their cars (Focus / Fiesta DCT anyone?)

Where does it says the V8 won't be available overseas? First time I heard of this.

My mistake. Earlier it was reported that they would not get the V8 version. Now, reports are saying they won't get the V6 version, only the turbo and the v8.

Just bought a 2014 gt premium. The 2015 looks too much like a Honda accord coupe. Or a slightly bigger scion frs. It was underwhelming in real life. Also the performance pack on the 2015 just ain't right. Black wheels and no spoiler? Da hell.

That made me spit my pepsi out. I let my wife read your comment and she said.."Get the son-of-***** some glasses...Honda Accord? WTF"

I know it's all subjective I guess but the car looks NOTHING like an Accord or a SCION FRS.

I don't blame those who are loyal to their S197s. What else can you do...? I've own three; the last two were GT500s, and I was thrilled with all of them.

I do, however, think that the 15+ bashing is hilarious. Almost like a form of jealousy. You naysayers will eventually succumb and realize that the 15+ will be/is a superior car in every way.

Ding ding ding, I myself will probably be buying a 14 when the 15 comes out. I'm too anxious to get back into a mustang and don't want to pay the new comming price of the 15. I thought to myself, "will I become a 15 hater if I get a 14"? Haha The coyote is an amazing motor in itself so there should really be no hate. Plus I can't see the 15 out performing the s197 coyote by too much.

I can't speak for everyone else but I personally am not jealous of anyone who bought an Edsel. I'm not jealous of anyone who bought a Pontiac Aztec. I'm not jealous of anyone who drives a Fiat 500. I'm sure as hell not jealous of anyone who wants to buy a Mustang with what has got to be the ugliest front end ever attached to this great vehicle. For those that find it attractive and want to buy one I absolutely encourage you to go get one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me the choice was simple. I was absolutely in the market to buy the 2015 Mustang, until they revealed it on TV. A week later I bought the 2014 before they were all gone because no way in hell was I going to drive a two door Fusion.

Same here. I was buying my first new car and it was going to be the 2015. When I saw the pics I quickly ordered the car I've been drooling over. A 2014 GT vert. I'm not jealous either (or is the word envious?) of those ordering a new 2015. I'm not a fan but I'm still looking forward to you guys getting your cars.

Back to the jealous thing, I can turn it around and say all you guys trying so hard to convince everybody how nice it is are really doing it so everybody likes the car you're going to buy.

Really, I can't wait to see one in person. I hope I change my mind.

Not sure what an Edsel, Aztec, or Fiat has to do with anything, but it sounds like you're jealous

so then you definitely wouldnt drive a fox body mustang since during that era the mustang looked like the escort which looked like the tempo which looked like the taurus which looked like the ranger which looked like the f150.....
dont believe me? google....i bet you couldnt tell which car was which if you saw them from the front only! just try it once, you will see what i mean....
at least the cars thru the 2015 line have some differences in them...back then only diff was length of car and how many doors....even interior was similar...
sorry but to me the ugliest mustang was the fox, and to this day i have no interest in purchasing one....
