That was aimed at Kyle not you. If you want to see a TRUE Mustang Guy just find a mirror and look into it.

Kyle is a Mazada Guy that bough a Mustang.

Great decision on the 2014. Classic black looks fantastic.
I ordered a 2014 because I really dislike the new FusStang. My son is 16 and his friends do not like it at all either. Will have to see if Ford has a hit or another Taurus on its hands

The front end of the 2015 is just not attractive at all. I like everything about the 2015 except the ugly front end. That is why I bought a 2014 as well and this is what happens when corporate execs are calling the design shots instead of real Mustang enthusiasts. Not every car in your lineup has to have the same front end Ford, get a clue. It just looks ugly. It's not attractive on the Focus either and its a design that is already looking dated. It's going to hurt Mustang sales because some douche just had to have his corporate design language.

We all seem to enjoy the last few model years of the Mustang. That's why we are here. But this thread is proof that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I loved the 2000-2004 Mustang looks. I didn't really like the 2005-2009 retro style too much, I liked the 2010-2012, and I absolutely love the 2013-2014. Which is why I bought one. The 2015 is HIDEOUS in my opinion.

I live in Detroit area, and my neighbor who works for Ford has had one in his driveway for a while. Seeing it in person (silver 2015 5.0 with 20" wheels and 6 piston brembos) has reaffirmed my dislike. The front grill and headlights might as well be the same part number as the current Fusion.

Plus the rear end looks unfinished. I love the classic 60's Mustangs, and I understand that;s what the 2015 tried to re-create, but in my opinion it's a plastic surgery gone horribly wrong.

Seriously though, if Ford was to make a Fusion coupe, the 2015 Mustang is EXACTLY what it would look like. Perhaps with very slightly different tail lights. But the front end wouldn't change... hmm..on second thought.. it would just have the blue oval

It's not? Oh, would you mind telling me why the only other non-pickup trucks with one since the year 2000 were Panther platform cars and the last-gen F-Bodies? Saying you like that it's different or you enjoy the unique handling characteristics is fine, but to claim Ford knows something every other manufacturer in the world doesn't, that it isn't an outdated technology, is just burying your head in the sand.

Ha. I've wanted one since I was 14, just wasn't a financially viable option until a couple years ago - good on you for apparently visiting my site and seeing my past Mazdas though.

That's fair and I won't argue with it; if you like that part of it, even more reason to buy. I bought mine despite that feature, not because of it.

I bought a 14 a couple of months ago. The plan was to wait on the 15's but once I saw it I really didn't dig it as much as I thought I would. The 13-14 style had me drooling for a long time so I had to pull the trigger before I missed out.

I'm guessing the new Mustang will grow on me as I start to see them in person. I remember seeing the 2000 Mustang and not liking it all that much. I ended up owning one for 12 years.

I wasn't a fan when I saw pics of the 05 before it came out. When I saw it on the street I basically ran to the dealership to buy one. Looks like the 2015 will have the same effect except I really like what I see so far.

kind of the same with me. I wasn't a huge fan of the 2015, till I saw it in person. Then it won me over.

Same deal with my '14 purchase 2 months ago. As VidPro suggested, the clock was ticking on S197 availability and I didn't want to snooze and lose.

I don't hate the 2015. I don't even dislike it. In fact, it's a very beautiful car, but I wanted my Mustang to look like a Mustang. Maybe it's the retro old school baggage I seem to carry but IMO the S197 has the last of it's kind classic Mustang look.

Much has been made of the Euro styling, but I see Japanese influence big time, specifically the 76/77 Toyota Celica GT. I owned one, it was a great car and I wish I still had it. But a Mustang it was not, and perhaps the reminiscent styling is why I chose the 2014 over the 2015.

^ that's a VERY interesting perspective. First I've heard of this comparison. And looking at it, by golly you're right

I find it funny that, at that time, the Japanese cars were mimicking the US muscle cars of that era. Now, we are harking back at yesteryear imports. LOL.

I'd take it one step further. The Celica actually looks ok like that? Why? Becasue the deck lid is vertical, just like the 60's Mustang. What makes me really dislike the tail end of the '15 is the weird, nu-natural and puzzling slant the deck lid has. Every time I see it I'm puzzled. Maybe if I tilt my head it will look better? Nope. Still don't get it.

The Celica GT Liftback came out in '76, but Toyota also made a coupe a few years before which continued until '77. Both flavors were redesigned in '78.

Where the Toyota designers were attempting to capture the look of a Mustang Fastback with the Liftback, the Celica Coupe, which was mechanically identical and shared sheet metal from the doors forward resembled somewhat the original Camaro. The Japanese designers, engineers, and bean counters knew which American buttons to press. The Celica was wildly successful.

Thanks for that picture of the Celica. I'd forgotten about that car, and I owned a 73 Celica ST. I wanted a GT soooo bad when they came out.
