That looks great.

But I am still trying to learn how to handle the 412 that I have. I just couldn't use 605, yet...

Sounds like a nice kit. It was also interesting to read about the 5.0’s internals.

You could give some older Cobras a run for the money with this thing.

This was actually the first kit out on the market if I'm not mistaken. I've seen it posted else where before a long time ago.

Seems like a pretty good kit for the price. But I think I would get a centri blower if I was going the SC route on these cars.

wait a minute

if this is true

"The stock engine has forged PM rods, with HD 12 point rod bolts. The rods are beefier than the 4.6 3V rods, and were designed to operate at higher rpm’s.

The stock cast pistons have oil jets spraying cooling oil on the underside, providing better durability for extended high rpm engine speeds. The piston pin is a lightweight taper wall design, for minimum flex at high rpm.

The 5.0 arrives with a very high quality forged steel crankshaft standard, capable of supporting large power levels."

Then all they did for the Boss was get rid of the oil jets and put in forged pistons?

515rwhp is only around 585 flywheel hp. sucks seeing companies fudge numbers like that.

The Boss does not have a substantial power differance (412 vs. 440) so they did not need to do significant upgrades to the internals.

They did however rework the intake and cams, which is what yeilds power gains in the real world.

No the figures are right generally say 15% loss at the real wheels from flywheel so 605 - 15% = 514.25 hp

The Boss has 444 hp with sinter forged rods, forged pistons, sodium filled valves, and CNC'd heads along with a few other goodies so it's also capable of supporting more hp. The Boss will rev to 8,000 rpm but was held to 7,500 so it will last longer. Both engines should be able to support more hp.

Yeah, this kit has been out for awhile, apparently. According to a couple posts in this thread below, Canadian tuner SHM has a bad reputation. I honestly don't know who or what to believe, so take it for what it is.

thanks

So better rods and forged pistons. Why did they get rid of the oil spray? would that not add durability?
