You're car sounds like a beast. I know it's a big chunk of extra change, but I've never heard of anyone with the electronics package, that didn't think it was a really good deal. I would highly recommend getting it.

Ya the extra $2100 for the electronics package isn't really worth it for me.

You gotta make real good use of the electronics package just justify it's price. In my case it wasn't really worth it since my car is just a w-e driver and stored 4 months a year.

Also Garmins are pretty cheap and reliable, and Ford even was cool enough to put a nice power outlet on top of the middle part of the dashboard. Cost for this setup: 100-200$. Hopefully you could do without the Brembos and Electronics, then go glass roof. I'm blind as hell, but the stock headlights seem to work well for me, except they seem pointed very low, a quick fix. You got my 2 cents, spend it wisely, young jedi.

I too was not a fan of the HID look at first. After some thought and comparing other Mustangs I saw on the road, I felt that it makes the Mustang look more modern and classier. Besides that, I couldn't be happier with the performance. I love my HID's and would highly recommend them. Also, since you're getting the security package, it's a no-brainer.

Am i the only one who ordered a premium A/T v6 with no extras? (except weather floormats) LOL.
Increasing the price of the car any more simply wasn't an option.
BTW do I get the standard floor mats too? I should....

Majority of people will have other options. But the base premium car is very nicely equiped!

Yes carpet mats come automatically, the all weather mats are in addition to. When useing the all weather make sure you take out the carpet ones, don't stack them.

Howdy Shane (loved your flic), new guy myself in the same exact postion, ordering w/in 2-4 weeks.

Regarding the Brembo pkg, I thought it a must until I researched those tires.

Now I'm thinking if I get them, I'll need another set of wheels/tires for cold weather.

I don't plan on driving the car in the snow/ice or sand sprinkled roads (have a 4wd Ranger), but don't want to have to leave it in the garage just because it's cold.

The description for those particular Perillis state they're not intended for use in near freezing temps. I'm guessing they become hard and traction goes down significantly.

They also cost $385 a piece at the tire rack. Found one place that had them avail for $345. Don't know if either include mounting and balancing.

Then I see folks only seem to be getting ~ 15K miles out of them, give or take (one I read said he had to replace at 12K).

Now I'm still undecided (but am leaning against and my most recent pricing leaves them off), but I've always gotten most of my car adrenelin out of accelleration (why I'm opting for the 3.73's), and I plan on peeling some rubber off the back tires.

I don't plan on running this at any track, but I do live in the High Desert of the Pacific Northwest where there are miles of 2 lane curvy canyon and mountain roads. I'm not planning on hitting them too hard, and like to think the Perilli all seasons, 18" stock rims, stock suspension and 4 wheel discs will suffice.

Pardon if it seems like I'm trouncing your thread, but did hope to achieve two goals, both give you something to consider and promote a little more discussion of perhaps both our questions.

Regarding the electronics pkg, it sure does seem pricey but I plan on taking a number of 3 and 4 day roadrtips. (I work ten 8 hour shifts and am then off for 4 days). Some one gave me a demo Garmin a couple years ago and I'll be darned if that thing doesn't come in handy. Lot cooler than breaking out the road atlas like I've done for 35 years.

I realize the sync offers a voice activated nav, but I'm a picture guy and not sure how comfortable I'm going to be talking to my car. I just can't see plugging in the garmin and sticking it to the inside winshield of my new little Ford B.A. with a power chord running to it, so as it stands I'm planning on including it. Have read a number of guys who didn't but subsequently wish they did.

Plus to be able to download all my ipod into the car and have a virtual jukebox in there seems excellent.

For the above reasons, plus the fact there are tons of mule dear around here (also the most sasquatch sightings of any state...ha!), I'm thinking the HID's are a real good idea. I don't particularly like looking at them when they're on an oncoming vehicle, but I understand they put out 2 1/2 times the light of the standard halogens.

One knock on them, other than the price, is I understand thay don't actually dim, but pivot up and down. On some type of gimbal system w/springs. Some report that on a bumpy road they can go snakechit and your headlights become useless.

I'm also thinking comfort package just to make the woman as comfortable as possible, although I personally don't like heated seats...makes me feel like some big sweaty guy just got out of my car.

One more thing, I think the lower facia front looks outstanding, and if you want to later add some mufflers for a little more sound, many have 4" openings, which I think is the main diff on the rear diffuser.

I'm may also have them install the Ford Racing Power Pack for ~ $750 if I can confirm it won't void or seriously limit the drive train warranty. I've poured over all the material on the racing site and just need ensure with the dealer. Sounds like if they do the install at time of delivery, the 3yr/30,000 mile warrant will apply to them. Still trying to figure out thea warranty verbage. Bit confusing.

Not looking for a lot of power increase, but a bit throatier sound, better throttle response, not void my warranty or put undue stress on the engine and drive train. Looks as though it may place the drive train in a Limited warranty, which may put a cap on the amount of $ repair they'll then cover. Too tired to figure it out at the moment. Does give a nice low end torque increase, plus it electronically locks out the skip shift. This may not be that big an issue, apparantly it's easy to disable if you can reach the 2 pin plug to the solenoid on the psgr side near the top of the rear part of the transmission. Some don't have issues with the skip shift at all. In some cases it reads as if it may be a contributing factor to some tranny problems, which leads to my last and biggest concern.

The Getrag MT82 6-speed. There are a number of bad stories on some of the fourms. This does seem to be limited. Still researching but geting the impression there are many more positive experiences than bad. I presently plan on ordering the 6-spd manual.

The following is a list of the current options I'm thinking of.

GT Premium Coupe
6 Speed Manual
Red Candy
Rapid Spec 401A with Charcoal Black & Cashmere
Reverse sensing system/security package
3.73 Limited Slip
Brembo Brake Package

Does anyone have opinions on options I should add or remove.

Thanks Everyone
Only real option changes I did compared to yours was:

3.55- if I do end up tracking the car will probably end up autocrossing, just feel the 3.55s are a bit better for it.

Electronics Pkg- prefer an integrated looking system. Was considering the Ipad install another member of these forums did, still might if it got smoothed out a bit more before my order is finalized.

not doing the security pkg just because i prefer aftermarket and a remote start.

Just my opinions and priorities, then again everyone has their own.

$385 A PIECE AND THEY ONLY LAST ~15K!!!!!!!!
What Is the brand and type of tire are they? Also what size are they?

Does anybody have this kind of experience with the Brembo tires?

From what I've read on here that does sound about right, of course the tires aren't the only part you get from the BBP. most people end up replacing them with an all season tire unless they are some where that actually needs dedicated winter tires.

I believe w/Brembo Pkg they are Perelli PZero Max Performance Summer 255/40ZR19 @ $384/ea.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....rembo%20Brakes

Think the standard tire is a Perelli PZero Nero Ultra High Performance All Season 235/50ZR18 @ $134/ea.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ndard%20Brakes

Note these are only the results of a Tire Rack search. Found them for ~ $40 less somewhere, and even found several links on one of the search engines that showed that very tire at $210. But chasing down those links turned out to be a dead end for me.

I've actually talked myself back into the Brembo Pkg because of all the curvy 2 lane hiway canyon and mountain driving I'll do. Plan is on either going to an all season later on the Brembo wheel or scrounge a second set of wheels that have the same offset as Brembo wheels and mounting a tire that's more affordable and can be driven in cold weather.

Like mentioned, the Brembo pkg consists of not only the brakes (note; only the front brakes are upgraded), larger wider wheels and performance tires, but Ford also describes "unique electronic stability control (ESC) suspension tuning".

Have read another gentleman on a different Mustang forum insisting the Brembo pack consists of upgraded suspension components, including springs, shocks and control arms but I don't believe that's true.

One concerning thing to me about this brake setup performance wise is the reported/demonstrated heavy nose dive during hard braking. When coupled with the torque squat when getting on it, this might be initally a little unnerving, from what I've seen...as if there's too much front brake. However from all the roadtests I've read/watched on videos, the drivers all say 'get the Brembos'.

But again, unless you're running a lot of roadrace courses (or perhaps do a lot of spirited curvy 2 lane canyon/mountain road driving), they may not be a good option.

And as expected, the ride is reported to be a little more harsh than the standard brake setup. That just might be mostly from the larger wheel dia/lower profile tire.

BTW, from what I understand, this is the brake setup put on GT500's. I think the Camaro SS and Dodge SRT8 Challengers run Brembo's stock, maybe even all the way around...not 100% on this.

One thought is to later upgrade the rear brake setup and/or have the distribution tweaked...if that's even possible.

If you've not seen these, they're awesome. 2nd one the best as far as GT demo is concerned and the driver comments on many aspects, if not all, including the brakes.

There are accompanying Motor Trend articles which are real good reads and sometimes when you find them the vid is embedded in the first page, but wouldn't you know it I can't find 'em w/the vids at the moment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOwSP..._safety_mode=1

Again, pardon me for being so wordy on your thread, but all things considered seemed better than starting my own as we appear to both still be pondering exactly how to order.

Shoot, as long as I've gone this far Shane, if you don't mind, here's my planned order. Maybe we can talk ourselves in/out of stuff with others input.

'12 GT Premium w/6-spd man in Kona Blue
-401A
-Sec/HID/Wheellocks
-3.73 rear
-'Lectronics Pkg
-Comfort Pkg
-Acc Pk 4 (hood scoop/deck spoiler)
-Front GT facia
-Rear lower facia
-side window deflectors
-locking fuel plug
-Ford Racing GT Power upgrade

My Sis sells Ford trucks and can get me a decent discount.

I think the glass top is cool, but it doesn't open, adds a fair amount of weight (I'd guess) and is $2K.

Well I guess when the stock Brembo BP tires wear out I'll be getting a different brand haha.

Does anyone have prices on the brake pads for the Brembos? I looked on Autozone's and NAPA's website but they weren't listed.

I noticed my neighbor garaged his mustang this winter.
But this is going to be driven all year round. We don't have a third car..but perhaps we'll try to car pool in really bad snow.

personally I vote no to the electronics package, but that's all on personal preference.
I have a phone that does GPS just fine and is a big enough screen, I can't justify paying over 2000 bucks for the same thing but integrated (although coming from a BMW, climate control is pretty nice )
