My 2011 Mustang Wrecked in 7 car pile-up
I talked to the body shop and they did say that they would replace all of my parts installed on the video (borla exhaust, redline hood struts, etc)
Austin, glad that you're okay. Go after your insurance for "diminished value." Your car will be worth about 25% less having the accident on its history report, so you should be compensated for that loss that was not your fault.

You know, it would be a damned shame if it were to burn to the ground sitting in the body shop parking lot. Just sayin'.
Same here, i wouldn't want to have a car that had that much repairs done to it. Don't want to sound negative here, but they're will always be some little annoying problems that resurface down the road. Ask me how i know, that's why i sold my '91 LX 5.0 . Good luck and push it to be totalled.
Have your insurance adjuster look a the car themselves and don't go through the body shop.. they want the business and will say anything. You are under no obligation to do an insurance claim through a shop.
The ins co. is more likely to total it if they evaluate it.
I went and talked to the owner of the body shop today. He is big into muscle car restoration and talked to me about the damages. He said that both the front and back parts were hit in the "soft" spots and that the suspension and frame looked fine. He still is waiting on the adjuster before he starts to take it apart and get the official quote. I threw out the idea of upgrading some body parts if it is not totaled and he was all about that.
Right now, I'm going for a CS rear valance and Roush front bumper. I'm planning on keeping my stock grille and fogs with the roush foglights and having them wired separate with their own harness. I'm sticking with the stock hood for now because I can't find any others that I'm in love with. I'm not crazy about the huge scoops on most of the aftermarket hoods (they look too bulky and fake) and was never into the ram hoods. I like the saleen hood with the molded hood scoop, but it's too expensive for my taste.
Any suggestions and pictures would be appreciated.

I suggest telling the insurance company and the body shop "no bondo". I would want all body panels replaced. None of that hammering it out and smoothing it. That might push you over the edge and get it totaled. When I crashed my '05 in '07 it was 11k Euro (14k $) to fix, but they replaced everything including 2 rims and tires. It wasn't enough to get mine totaled but nobody that saw it was able to tell the car had been in an accident.
Update: Recieved the estimate form the claims guy with towing charges: $14,600...after looking it over I pointed out that he chose the wrong headlights (halogen reflectors) and they were remanufactured. The body shop owner could not find any remanufactured headlights and stated that my HID projectors are about $1100 each from Ford (vs the $200 dollar headlights the claims guy estimated) so now we are at about $16,000 plus my aftermarket borla exhaust. The owner said combining this new info and the idea that I will be in a rental car for over a month that they are paying for may change their mind and want to total it. The body shop owner and I left a message for the claims guy Thursday, but am still waiting to here back from them.

Anyway, it's sad your car was damaged so bad but hopefully you will get his resolved to your satisfaction.
My wife was involved in a collision in her 2008 Mountaineer last winter. The other car, a Geo, was truly a total wreck with nothing straight on it, while hers had major damage on the front end, including a bent frame. Since the current value of her car exceeded the repair cost, which was similar to what you are quoting, the insurance company paid to repair it an not total it. Frankly, we were happy with that as finding another equipped like hers would have been difficult. Insurance covered "remanufactured" parts, which really were parts like body panels pulled from other wrecks, and that turned out fine. I sort of like that they are OEM components. The repair took a month, and had one trip back immediately after being completed (wrong A/C condenser installed and blew a hose, swirl marks on the hood, fog lights not working), but after that it is perfect. Even my critical eye can't find flaws, everythiing is straight and parallel, the paint is a perfect match (and gorgeous) and everything is like it was, or better, than before the wreck. Don't worry about the depreciation, unless you plan to sell your car right away, just enjoy it. As for a rental car, our insurance didn't cover that, but this body shop, as all do around here, provided a "loaner" for the duration of the repair. Nothing great...a Chevy Cruze (not impressed) for the first month and a Silverado pickup for the last day on the short return trip.

Man, I hate being in that position. When my 2011 Mustang was damaged from road debris, I ended up getting a new transmission, D/S and rear end along with a few other little bits and pieces. After market stuff was replaced as well. USAA was great about the whole thing too. My car was in the shop for 5 weeks. Thought I was gonna go crazy living without it! Since it was all drive train, I insisted on it being repaired at the dealer. $6500 later, you can't tell that it was ever damaged and in all actuality, it drives and performs better now than before since they used an updated transmission (MT-82). Only issue I had was when the dealer installed the new Steeda PHB, they didn't get the rear end centered properly. So I did it at home. It was off by over 1/2" too!
Good luck to ya brother. Hope you get it totaled. That much damage is bound to have its quirks if it's repaired.

jesus christ thats brutal. that definitely needs to be totaled. in my honest opinion i would not even want it fixed if you can get a new car out of it.
