[quote=Vermillion06;5597130]Oh yes, I forgot that Ford is inherently EVIL and bunch of liars, being founded by Satan himself, under the pseudonym Henry Ford. They NEVER consider the customer ultimately buying their product. They only care about the car dealership, their partner in "axis of evil", along with big oil and Emperor Palpatine.

Not like angelic Nissan, who are planning to build a GTR for every human being on earth so that there are plenty go to around and striking down any dealer that charges a markup with lightning bolts from heaven.

Not like wonderful green Toyota, which is sending angels down from heaven to prevent dealer markups on their gift to mankind, the Prius, which they give away free of charge because they are so concerned with saving the Earth.

Oh, wait....

I just wanted to weigh in on the ADM debate, I say just don't pay their ransom.... It could be Ford, Dodge BMW.......... If people unite and decide not to pay ADMs then MSRP will be there before you know it. I was kinda pissed when the GT500 came out and people with more money than brains came out paying 20-30k above sticker. Instead of paying $65,000 for the GT500 I was in line for I ended up getting an 03" Cobra for about $25,000........... And now the dealers who tried screwing me are screwed with several GT500s sitting on lots. I feel people get what is coming to them in the long run

it's important to remember that ford, along with gm and chrysler were caught napping, once again. the huge increase in fuel prices and the subsequent changes in the public's demand for higher fuel effeciencies in their vehicles are almost impossible for the designers to predict. having said

in terms of bmw with their 1 series, bmw is starting out with two big advantages: the car has been in production for a number of years and it was designed with 4 and 6 cylinder engines as the base power plants. we don't see the4 cylinder mlotor in this country but anywhere else on the globe wherethat car is sold, the 4 banger is the base engine.

regarding prices, this is totally dependent on where you live in this country: where i live there is no price gouging of any sort on any american vehicle....in large parts of the country, foreign vehicle sales outnumber, by a large margin, american vehicle sales (duh)....i hardly see ANY model mustang in the town where i live and this is for a vehicle that's been in production for 4 years.

finally, if ford produces the 2010 mustang without atleast 2 versions of a 4 cylinder motor (normally aspirated and a turbo version) and upgrade the v6 motor to a duratec or better model v6, then they deserve the sales numbers that will ensue.

Is Ford still going to offer the 6 cylinder if they put in a 4 banger? Whats the point? I say keep an SVT V8 a base GT V8 use a 4 cylinder for the base model and maybe offer the turbo 4 as an SE model. I see no purpose for a V6 Mustang in the new lineup. I say 2 V8s and 2 4 cylinder models to choose from is plenty. or even just use the the turbo 4 for the base motor.

I agree a turbo I-4 could replace the N/A V-6. You can get similar power and better fuel economy. The only issue I can see is consumer acceptance. Some of the folks here have a problem with a V-6 engine, let alone a I-4.

I doubt there will be a problem with consumer acceptance as long as Ford still offers a V8. Maybe it's just me but I doubt most current V6 owners would care if there next Mustang was powered by a turbo 4 or a new 6. I do on the other hand see people taking exception to owning a 4 verses an 8. I think most guys who have only bought V8s will continue to do so for the most part but a turbo 4 would be a huge improvement to the current V6.

I agree alot of folks would never know the different especially in a rental car. My friend rented a Nissan Altima and thought the I4 was a V-6. For the record, it is very strong for a I4.

The question I would ask is if budget racers would notice the difference? There's certainly a group of folks here that hotrod their sixers. A 3.5 V-6 with a turbo can touch 400 HP. I'm guessing you would have to get into the block of a turbo 4 to go over 300 HP. The V-6 might be the cheaper route.

Ford hasn't officially said anything about 4 bangers or V8's. But, they have spoken about the V6. I tend to agree with the Magazines that Ford wants the V6 to be the main engine for its cars and most of its trucks.

For now, a SE(SVO type) Mustang doesn't sound all that crazy. But, unless gas reaches $6, I don't see the 4 banger as the main entry level engine for the Mustang.
A GDI V6 can be tuned to get great gas mileage, so I don't see the point of a 4 banger.

In about five years, when this Hemi Challenger & Camaro craze is over, I expect all three manufacturers to drop smaller V8's into their pony cars.

I understand some people mod there V6s but they are a minority. Even if the new 3.5 is more mod friendly than the turbo 4 I say who cares just buy a V8.

As far as making smaller V8s I don't think Ford can go much smaller than the 4.6 and a larger Chevy small block gets about the same gas mileage. The 6.0 in the GTO got slightly worse mileage than the Mustang most likely because it was a larger, heavier car.

while this is true it never works because there usually are more customers then cars available. and rich people don't care about paying more since they just want to boast about having the car first.

Yeah but then they cry poverty! I have a neighbor who bought one of the first GT500s in the area for $75,000 and last month he offered to sell it to me for $60,000! After I showed him that a local dealership had a new 08' model loaded with options his car didn't offer (HIDs, Navigation, Ambient Lighting, Heated Seats etc....) for MSRP just a shade under $50,000 I think. Needless to say he was furious. Perhaps these previous GT500 owners will be a little wiser with there money. Even the wealthy are feeling the pinch with today's economy.

You are correct sir. I don't care how much money you have, it always hurts to buy something at 75k, just to see it available a year later 25k cheaper.

Last I read, there were over 9.3 million "Millionaires" in the United States. Factor in all the other wealthy people who make well over $100,000 per year and buying a $50k GT500 isn't a drop in the bucket to them.

Based on the stunning news today about Ford, I would like all the Mustang guys to please re-consider your support for the Ford 3.5L TT V6.. This may be Fords best bet in the future..

I know you guys want a V8, but I think Ford needs your understanding on this one..

I am a devout Ford Customer. I talk alot of smack, but I am dedicated to strictly Ford.. You V8 guys need to stop thinking only about yourself.. LOL!!

Please give the 3.5L V6 TT some more thought.. Its not a bad motor.. It should be able to hit no less than 700-800RWHP in factory trim, based on the design of the motor..

I'm all for the 3.5L TT V6 as an option, however the 5.0L GDI 4V V8 also deserves just as much of a chance as well.
