Manufacture date on a window sticker?
Pulled up the window sticker on a couple of cars online and am wondering if the manufacture date is on it.
In a box on the sticker just to the right of the box where it says "Final Assembly Point" is a group of numbers and the last set in the group looks like a date "08 24 09", is this the manufacture date or at least the invoice date?
Knowing this would give me an advantage in negotiating a price for the car. Like if 08 24 09 is the date then that means this dealer has been sitting on this particular car for a long time so they would be more desperate to get it off the lot.
Of course this information would also help anyone out there the same way.

Build Date is Upper Left just to the left of the Blend Number. Their should be a code like: 120100426
Take the first 1 Off. It deciphers as: YYYYMMDD or Year-2010 Month-04 Day-26
I think the number you are referring to is the last modification made to status prior to production.
Mine shows 4-19 their because thats when they rescheduled me to the 4-26.

Yeah, got it figured out finally.
That means that one of the 2010's I am looking at has been around the dealers lot since September so they should be more desperate to get it off their lot.

One of the GREAT things about VA is that we require a safety inspection. All cars get "date stamped" with this sticker when the dealer takes delivery. It is IMMEDIATELY obvious how long the car has been sitting on the lot simply by looking at the windshield.
On the other hand, dealers aren't maintaining much inventory these days either so if you see a decal older than 90 days it's probably on something you don't want anyway.

Manufacture date isn't enough to say how long a single dealer has had it. One dealer may "trade" with another and then it looks like a new car. It is, enough, however to gauge how "old" the car is.
