Loud squeaking noise when I have the wipers on.

Hey, I was trying to find a solution to this problem. When it rains and I have the wind shield wipers on, there is a loud squeaking noise that occurs when the wipers make contact with the wind shield. I was wondering if changing the wind shield fluid will help. If so, what kind of fluid, like what brand and whatnot would you recommend? it gets very annoying when it rains and the wipers are on.

Wipers are being used when windshield is dry or the rubber of the wiper blades has dried and hardened.

Washer fluid is used to clean the windshield using the wipers....not lube the wipers.

Hey Will3212,

I recommend you go to your Ford dealer and have them check your wipers. Let me know if you need anything.

Be careful that you wipers haven't fallen apart and the arm Isnt gouging your glass. Usually they take years to fall apart tho. Go out and give it a look and U should be able to tell.

However, definitely buy new blades regardless

With only 10K on my 2011, the wipers have left a vertical smear mark at the left side of their farthest travel. I finally had to get some serious glass cleaner to remove it. The rubber is plyable, and not cracked, but I ended up replacing them with rainx blades. No longer am I getting this mark on the windshield.

wiper blades need to be replaced every year. Here in phoenix you have to replace them twice a year due to the heat and how dry it is here in the valley.

You can try treating the windshield with Rain-X or Aquapel, and wipe the blade itself with isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't work, just change the blades.
