Talking Long time lurker, until now

Greetings y'all! My name is William from the Seattle area. Long time forum lurker, but finally decided to write in after watching all these interesting and exciting discussions on the forum. I've had my Sterling Gray 2011 GT for little over a month now, so I figured it's time to debut and join the club here.

Coming from 1993 to 2007 and now, 2011 model, I must say the level of sofistication, precision, and power Ford has put into the new vehicle is astounding. I am loving every bit of it! For those who custom ordered their cars, the wait will be well worth it. Just enjoy the forum discussions and get virtually acquainted with your soon-to-be stang.

So here's my story...after searching two weeks for the right color and option, I located a VIN # thru Ford's website and tracked it down at one of my local Ford dealers. Called them the next day and turns out the car came right off the truck and went straight into the show room that morning. The sales person was quite surprised I knew the VIN # of the car they just received. It also turns out it was the first batch of 5.0s that came into their inventory pool. In any case, they knew I was a repeat customer who brings customer referrals, so no haggling, brought my paperwork, and got the deal closed at invoice price in no time.

Here's what I got:
  • 400A
  • MT
  • 3.73 gears
  • Brembo Brake Package
  • Security Package
  • HID head lamps
  • Rear video camera
  • Comfort package
So far no major mods yet, but I've ordered an SCT tuner yesterday. Still waiting verdict on CAI kit so I'm holding off of that right now. My hope is that JLT will come through with something solid and reasonably priced.

I have couple of interior upgrades that I've already done with a pending window tint application (have the kit already), but I do have questions and recommendations around my experience that I'd like to share in a separate post later in their respective sub-forums.

William

Thanks! You will definitely enjoy yours too once it arrives. One thing you'll notice in the last pic I snuck in there...is actually a post-purchase upgrade that I messed up. See my other thread here. Hopefully others considering a shifter **** upgrade won't go through the same careless mistake I made.

Congrat Bill!! Great Car!! I have about 1k on my new gt and I am still trying to figure out how to avoid tickets. I think they should give 2 mulligens to 5.0 owners.

Say, just to clear up any confusion if someone was to try and match your cars specs, it is a 400A premium car not a 300A base.

Nice car by the way...

Oh crap, a definite typo there. Fat fingers in play. I'll be right back - need to get my manicure/cuticles done again. LOL!
